Appears North Korea didn't pay their Comcast bill

North Korea experienced a massive Internet outage Monday. Doug Madory, the director of Internet analysis at New Hampshire-based Dyn Research, a company that studies Internet connectivity, said the problems were discovered over the weekend and grew progressively worse to the point that "North Korea's totally down."
"They have left the global Internet and they are gone until they come back," he said.

North Korea is part of the Fox News package on Dish. Fox and Dish couldn't work out a carriage agreement, so both Fox and NK got taken off the air.
Pretty straight forward and has nothing to do with Comcast.

Dish tried to play games like North Korea did and Dish quickly learned Fox News is the number one source of news in the United States so when they tried blackmailing Fox for more money and blocked the channel, so many complaints and cancellations came in their servers and phone lines starting shutting down. By the way Fox News is back on Dish, just checked!

And when ink goes to paper, Fox will make sure NK is back on as well. Crazy cats of the same stripe. Forbes is on his way to Pyongyang to stroke the agreement to completion.

Internet services in North Korea were down for around nine and a half hours in the first outage, according to Dyn Research.
Some questioned how much an outage would affect a country where normal citizens have little access to the web.
Although many have computers and smartphones, they only have access to a government-approved intranet. Access to the world wide web is reserved for a trusted elite in North Korean society.
North Korea's internet is handled by state-run company Star Join Ventures which is routed through Chinese telecommunications firm China Unicom....
