How will the stock market react? I'm kind of mixed on that one, although the GOP will be a positive influence on the economy and job makers, the free printing of money and artificial dumping of money to keep rates down will be slowed, so it's a mixed bag.

Don't worry, Tool, the Republican policy of printing money and giving it to rich people for free has been stopped already.

Define "rich" and we'll see.

This was a debate at the office today.

Very frequently, politicians will think of people with x income as "rich," but they never read the book The Millionaire Next Door, which pointed out that often point without luxury houses and cars are actually affluent.

Where does "rich" begin, 30 million?

To me rich would be having enough money that money is of no concern, in other words a person can do and buy what they want, when they want without regard for cost. So a person who likes to live a modest life and has no desire for world travels, boats, airplanes or luxury beach front homes might consider themselves rich with just a million dollars. On the other hand someone with all those tastes might need 100 million to consider themselves rich.

Yep, they say the best two days of your life are the day you buy a boat and the day you finally sell your boat. That saying is why I never bought a boat.

I don't even have a swimming pool, and don't want all the problems (including lawsuits) which can go along with them.

I do like some land around, but even that comes with problems. I spend Saturday cleaning up roofing debris some contractor left on my land. People see a green space, so they now and then dump stuff on it.

Being debt-free is a good thing. Although there is such a thing as "good debt" (e.g., a mortgage for a house you really want and are deducting the mortgage interest expense for), total freedom from debt is good.

I wish I was dead broke like the Clintons.

The Clinton's daughter said she doesn't want to be rich, money isn't what she's about and means nothing to her, but at the ripe age of 30 she paid $10 million cash for an apartment in New York...because it's the one she wanted. Her father sees her as a future leader of our country because she a humble young woman who only wants to help others.
