Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Republican congressman from Texas, is speaking out about President Barack Obama and his relationship to the Muslim brotherhood. Specifically, Rep. Gohmert has said that if a person is the Commander-in-Chief of the United States, he cannot be listening to Muslim brother advice on when it is time to stop destroying Muslim brothers. Gohmert made the comments while appearing on “The Wilkow Majority,” a program on SiriusXM, according to the Huffington Post on Thursday.
Gohmert’s comments have been taken as a warning to Americans that Obama would not be able to adequately protect the United States from any threat posed by ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria. ISIS, of course, is the terrorist organization that has engulfed incredibly large portions of Iraq. Gohmert claims that Obama would not be able to adequately protect the U.S. from the terrorist group’s threats because Obama’s administration policy is being strongly influenced by Muslim brothers.
The basis for Gohmert’s comments are that he strongly believes that the United States government is now infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is, of course, a group of persons who have been reclassified as a terrorist organization by Egypt. Two years ago, an assemblage of Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota who led the group of conservatives, demanded that the Inspectors General of four United States government agencies investigate what was referred to as deep penetration by the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. government. There are many who feel these Republicans should not be silenced as they may have valid points.
In response, however, Obama and his administration strongly criticized – and even condemned – those lawmakers, including Gohmert and Bachmann – for allegedly using false and inaccurate information to smear Muslims. Yet Gohmert still argued that six of Obama’s top advisers are Muslim brothers. He said that the six advisers have open doors to the president of the United States. He summarized this was the kind of stuff that has to stop if we are really going to deal with radical Islam...
