Hamas scores big win, continues firing missiles into Israel as Israel retreats. What were they thinking when they went into Gaza, they can't kill a belief or culture with weapons.

As I understand it...since the beginning when the Israeli state was formed.....A UN mandate gave the Gaza strip to the Palestinians. All the wars since then have been because the Israelis want the Gaza strip. At one point Israeli Prime Minister Sharon ordered all Israelis out of Gaza, but many refused and so the fighting continues.

When we were in high school, a typical news headline might be: "Tension erupts into violence in Gaza."

Israel's presence there simply enrages those surrounding it.

No, in 1948 the UN punted and said basically "Wherever you live now is your country." The Jews said, "Hooray, we have a country!" The arabs said "When we went to the UN we thought we would win. We don't accept any decision where we don't get what we want." So all of the arab countries, led by Egypt, said to the palestinians, "Leave your homes, live in these refugee camps for a few weeks while we drive the Jews into the sea." The Jews then proceeded beat the crap out of the arabs. That's how Israel began. And every other acquisition of land was due to further attacks by arabs and them being beaten back. And the other arab countries that forced the palestinians to abandon their homes in 1948 have spit on them ever since in those same refugee camps. The only reason the arab countries support the palestinians is so their lunatic populations aim their vitriol at Israel and not themselves.

Have you been watching any objective form of news media?

The Israeli military has pretty much blown the Gaza strip to smithereens.

“Against Our Better Judgement”

George Orwell once wrote: “Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.” Perhaps by rediscovering the past, we’ll gain control of the present, and make a better future for all our children.

When you send 3000 rockets into Israeli areas, you must expect a response.

Israel has been remarkably restrained, even issuing warnings and faux bombs to let folks know in advance.

Hamas, well, only a fool like Jimmy Carter wants to take terrorists seriously.

Jews in Europe at one time were referred to as Palestinians, a people that many felt didn't belong, they were alien to the region. Some old timers here in the United States are calling the groups of illegals Obama is distributing "to areas he wants more blue", Palestinians. One thing is for sure, if you welcome Palestinians into your neighborhood they will insist on you sharing what you have with them, once you give them something, they'll demand more and if you stop giving, sooner of later they will try and take what they want.

Israel's biggest mistake , was giving into the Palestinians' demands and giving them GAZA, now they demand more.

The Palestinians in GAZA make up the biggest welfare program on the planet. They produce nothing and depend on other countries to feed them, it's a 100 year old social experiment by Arabs to move what they considered their "aliens" away from them, the rest of the world is paying for it.
