I once visited the mansion of a fellow who was, a hundred years ago, the second or third richest man in America.

He had an intercom system, but no central AC, no TV, no PC, no mobile phone, etc., so a poor person today has a lot of things he didn't.

What the Left doesn't understand is that poverty today is much better than it used to be, and that is due to capitalism.

The liberal left, who are actually socialists, think that rather than empowering and encouraging people to succeed it's better to make everyone (except the party elites) equally miserable.

Channel the ghost of Mari Antoinette and ask how that worked for her.

Not at all.

I've learned a lot from Buffett's yearly letters and I encourage others to read them.

Buffett's position on taxation is ridiculous. He pays himself a very small salary, but is worth much more.

Also, Berkshire fought a tax case (goal: to pay less tax) for a decade.

Buffett is leaving most of his wealth to charity, thus evading taxes.

Finally, Buffett could pay more tax to reduce public debt anytime. I've posted the mailing address before in Parkersburg, WV where such checks may be mailed.
