The daughter of the late Robert Kennedy is acquitted of DWI because she took the wrong medication!......are you kidding me?? She faced up to a year behind bars if she had been found guilty. I knew that wasn't going to happen.

Yes, anyone else would have been in deep trouble.
I don't think it should matter re: her excuse of accidentally taking the Ambien.
She had the drug in her system, and she was impaired.
This was a jury trial right? Juries are a tossup regarding actually following the letter of the law.
Take a gun thru an airport TSA screening and try to explain it away as an accident.
Doesn't work there......

She began by "testifying" that RFK had been killed while seeking the presidency, thus attempting to cloak herself in some sort of historical innocence.

If she had taken her lessons from good 'ol Uncle Teddy, she could have killed somebody and still gotten off....

Righto then. Jolly good to see the colonists still respect their royal betters.
Tally ho and all that!

Locking someone up for switching their meds is a bit excessive.
Drowsy driving is not illegal.

Sideswiping another vehicle and leaving the scene to pass out behind the wheel elsewhere is usually illegal for most people.
It's good to be a Kennedy. Or Laura Bush.

Its one thing to drink and cause an accident. Nobody will believe a claim someone 'accidentally' got drunk.
So did this woman go out and intentionally drive under the influence of a prescription drug? Who knows???
From what I understand she wanted to plead guilty?

The Kennedys can do no wrong. Kerry's brother Douglas was tried and acquitted of child endangerment. The Kennedys own those courts. She left the scene of an accident she caused. DWI or not that is a law violation, yet I don't think the prosecution even pressed that in the trial. Old lady Ethel was there, surely glaring at the jury, daring them to find this Kennedy guilty.

Even worse, Kerry had the gall to later attempt to lecture on the errors of even prosecuting the case.
And Kerry's excuse was totally absurd.

You see, Forbes, your comments directly above are one of the many, many ways that I know you are not now, never have been and never will be an attorney of record anywhere but in your mind. You might, just might have an associate's J.D. from a third or fourth tier community college, but you've obviously never been in a courtroom in any type of actual litigating capacity.
Her attorney, not she, mounted a defense that resulted in acquittal. Making it the opposite of "absurd."
Find the typo!

Over the 63 years Grog has soiled this forum, he has posted many stupid things.
But, in the above posting, Grog has outdone himself.
Put simply, Grog is completely wrong.
But, to Grog's credit, he has never claimed to have suffered through law school.
Or undergrad training of any sort, for that matter.
Grog is not the dumbest person on the Internet, but he is among the least educated.

The daughter of the late Robert Kennedy is acquitted of DWI because she took the wrong medication!
So, even if true she was still DWI! You have to acquit because my client drank more booze than she should have.

If you could have refuted even an iota of what I laboriously hunted and pecked, as any neophyte trial lawyer could and would have, you should have effortlessly rejoined with a cogent counter argument, Johnforbes, not esquire.
You did not, Forbes. You are not equipped.
The matter is closed. Once and for all, Forbes, you are no more an attorney than JustFreedManMe is an economist or historian or even remotely sentient.

As with any liar, she knew enough not to proceed pro se.
Kerry's excuse was absurd.

All the Kennedys need to do when any of them get into trouble is wave the bloody shirts of the two assassinated brothers and they are given a free pass. Anyone who has looked into the myth of Camelot and the Prohibition and WWII activities of "Rum RunnerJoe" Kennedy knows how steeped in criminal activities the entire Kennedy clan is.
One wonders if karma has had a hand in all the tragedies that have followed this despicable band of crooks.

Let's see if Grog tries to tie rum-running and racketeering back to Laura Bush somehow.

LAURA BUSH?
I think you mean Prescott Bush, the Nazi collaborator who illegally built the family fortune on being a traitor, not just a common criminal like Joe Kennedy.

Of course, you may be referring to G.W. Bush, whose daddy got his cocaine possession arrest expunged from his police record through political connections.
