Christie showed his liberal side, he's out of the running

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – Gov. Chris Christie has responded Wednesday afternoon to email exchanges made public earlier in the day linking a top aide to the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal that’s been under investigation.

The email and text messages between Christie’s deputy chief of staff and the governor’s appointees to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey show a seemingly deliberate effort to create traffic gridlock by shutting Fort Lee’s access to the George Washington Bridge after its mayor refused to endorse Christie for re-election.

“Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee,” Christie aide Bridget Anne Kelly wrote to David Wildstein, a top political appointee at the Port Authority, which runs the George Washington Bridge, one of the world’s busiest spans.

Sokolich said, those responsible have to suffer the consequences for what they put drivers and people waiting on first responders through.

“I never in a million years would have ever imagined that for petty political gain, people would do what I now believe has been done, which was retribution against me. And that is the saddest, saddest political commentary that you could possibly imagine,” the mayor told Putney.
As CBS 2′s Tony Aiello reported, the governor last month claimed no one on his staff was involved with the lane closures. But the documents tell a different story.

“I don’t have any recollection of ever having met the Fort Lee mayor,” the governor said last month.

Christie has maintained the lanes closures were for a traffic study and not punitive. But the emails and text messages among Christie aides and his two top appointees at the Port Authority — Wildstein and Bill Baroni — suggest they were involved. The Port Authority’s executive director has testified there was no traffic study planned for the GWB.
The lane closures began on Sept. 9 and lasted several days.

On Wednesday afternoon, State Sen. Buono issued the following statement:

“Right now, we have no idea how far this scandal goes. The Governor has created a culture where cavalierly endangering citizens’ lives to exact political retribution is an acceptable form of governance. It’s beneath the dignity of his office and a breach of New Jerseyans’ trust.

“Everyone who had knowledge of the closing should be terminated immediately and the Department of Justice should conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether other towns in New Jersey suffered because the Governor wanted to get revenge,” said Buono.

The governor abruptly postponed a scheduled event Wednesday morning after reports detailing the email exchanges were published.
Thank God the Media's Republican candidate has been exposed as nothing more than another lying liberal, no wonder Christie and Obama are so close, they both use their government agencies to target those who don't support them.

FORT LEE – Emergency responders were delayed in attending to four medical situations – including one in which a 91-year-old woman lay unconscious – due to traffic gridlock caused by unannounced closures of access lanes to the George Washington Bridge, according to the head of the borough’s EMS department. The woman later died, borough records show.
The Rino is toast!

This should result in criminal charges of manslaughter being filed.

So they put traffic cones out for what?

Police activity, accident, construction, etc...

Either he's an idiot or a liar or both.

Obama is plenty stupid; that's why he hides his SAT and LSAT scores.

As to political "wisdom," DoJ will have an Obama supporter do the fake investigation into IRS abuse of the Tea Party.

Holder's wife is one of the chosen black females to continue Michelle's month-long vacation in Hawaii, so that is one reason Holder need have no respect for the rule of law.

What you will see, even with Christie, is at least some quick attempt to figure out what happened.

Whether Christie's ambitions will end here, given the many and various lies told by Bill and Hillary, by Obama, by LBJ, by Nixon, that remains to be seen.

Christie did something Obama would never do...he fired two of his staff involved. Imagine Obama firing anyone on his staff on the second day of a scandal. I don't like Christie because he's a Rino, but at least he's holding those under him responsible, I'm confident Obama would have shifted those involved to higher positions rather than firing them since they did it for him.

The White just chimed in on this mess.
White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters this morning that it was troubling that an appointee of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at the center of an apparent plan to engineer a traffic jam refused to answer questions from state lawmakers. The appointee, David Wildstein, invoked the Fifth Amendment, which offers protection against self-incrimination. Carney said legal advisers have disputed that Wildstein as a public employee has the right to decline to answer questions about his public position. Carney said the White House agreed with the criminal contempt charges that have been filed against Wildstein.
Odd that the White House agreed that those Federal public employees that invoked their Fifth in the Obama scandals had every right to do so. What changed?

As of now, this is the best news Team Hillary has heard for a while.

It's also good news for RINO-hunting Tea Partiers.

But it's the best news for the American people because if Christie is damaged enough we could see the Democrats ultimate fantasy ticket of some variation of Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Segal, Palin, Sheriff Joe and the Hillbilly Hero.

Top Democrat donors, including George Soros, are expressing their support of Chris Christie,
in fact, liberal Democrats across the country are actively lining up behind Christie.

Isn’t this the acceptable norm of politics now days: reward friends and punish enemies? It’s old hat, whether it be a New Jersey governor or the president of the United States, who has been known to hand out plum ambassadorships and other goodies to top fund-raisers, while using the Internal Revenue Service as his bludgeon on political foes and non supporters.

Even if Christie’s and Obama's versions of events is truthful, and they did not know what was being done by their minions, they are no less responsible. Their well-documented penchant for revenge created the culture that allowed the crude behavior of thier closest aides. They knew their boss would be pleased with them. In Obama's case, they end up being moved into higher positions within the Government and take the fifth, at least Christie fired his and charged the one who took the fifth with criminal contempt.

Another difference is the media is intent on destroying the reputation of a politician with whom it does not agree while protecting Obama for doing far worse things. Slowing down traffic is jaywalking comparing to using the IRS to harass and shut down political foes to win an election. Not to mention lying to Americans to force through a Bill that would have never passed without the lies.

In my mind both of them should be required to step down for their outrageous behavior. It's amazing that so many people have such low expectations of those put into office to serve us. If they were our gardener we would fire them.

But Obama and Hillary telling lies about the surge, with American soldiers at risk, the White House does not find that "troubling."

Nor does the media generally.

There will be many, many, many stories about Christie, but very few about Obama's lies and Hillary's lies.

Christie like Obama should be tossed out on their asses, with power comes responsibility, there's a reason they are allowed to appoint who they want to their staff, because they are responsible for their staffs' actions. To say my appointed staffer did it, not me is a false defense.

Christie isn't out of the running, yet.

But, one may expect he will be out of the running with what can expect will probably be the further revelations.

Christie never was in the running for the Republican 2016 nomination, it was just media support for a Rino. Christie is toast except in NJ where corruption is the norm and most of those wacky libs probably have a new respect for him for shutting down the lanes as pay back, reminds them of Obama and the Clintons.
