I love it. Rip that shit hole down. Reverse urbanization.

No farms, no food.

A private company is snapping up 150 acres on the Motor City's East End -- property where more than 1,000 homes once formed a gritty neighborhood -- and turning it into what is being billed as the world's largest urban farm. Hantz Woodlands plans to start by planting trees, but hopes to raise crops and even livestock in the future, right in the midst of the once-proud city.

It's a much better use of the land than it's previous purpose; a rat's nest breeding ground for future residents of the state penitentiary.

Farming has been increasing in all our major urban areas and cities.

Yep, it'll be interesting to see how farming goes not just there, but generally.

Since 1982, America has lost over 40 million acres to new development.

But farmers get more productive.

Plowing Detroit under would be a good start but I wouldn't want to eat any crops grown from that toxic dump.

If this catches on, it could provide some much needed jobs those 'hood rats are wanting.

Maybe they can plant cotton.
