Ah, God love those slimy politicians. For those of you dumb enough to play those lottery games, the politicians have smacked you again. As of Oct. 13, 2013, the numbers have been increased to 75 (up from 57.) The odds of winning the jackpot was 1 in 175,000,000 with the 57 numbers. Now the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 257,000,000. What was a sucker's bet is even more of a sucker's bet now. It would be better to take that dollar or two and throw it out the window.

It just goes to show that when a politician sees a dollar he panics and does everything he can to get it "to put it in the public coffers for the good of all."

Why is that a bad thing? No one is making them play, it's a good way to raise money to help people without raising taxes.

Do your friends that play the lottery a big favor; pass this information to them. The 1 in 257,000,000 odds almost insures that they can't win.

The argument is that the lottery is regressive in the sense that those with doctorates in statistics probably don't play it, and that perhaps those least able to afford it do play it.

But what the heck, every now and then I buy a lottery ticket -- it is a cheap, fun thing.

Those crazy odds, getting hit by lightning in the desert 20 times in a row...

Good luck with that...LOL...
