You have a point Joe. Black leaders need to address the issues that give people the perception they have about young black males. That perception isn't something your born with, it's something people learn through experience. Black leaders aren't doing anything to change that perception by sending blacks to the streets where they know there will be violence by blacks.
Listen to what Jesse Jackson had to say about his perception of blacks:
‘There is nothing more painful to me at this stage of my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”
Anyone who says they wouldn't rather be approached at night by a group of whites than a group of blacks is either a liar or they're stupid. Blacks have an earned perception, only blacks can change that by changing their behaviors.

They do clearly self identify. They prove their illegitimacy and malice very clearly and quickly.

Read what I wrote, read it real slow and say the words out loud and then may you'll understand. If black leaders were to follow my advice perceptions would change of blacks, but all most black leaders do is fuel hatred and keep the poor perception we have of many blacks a reality so they retain their control and power. My grandparents came from Mexico (legally) but I'm not a Mexican, I'm American who happens to be Hispanic.
The Mexican sneeking into the United illegally are not the type of Hispanics we want here, they are the low lifes of Mexico many flee Mexico to avoid prosecution. The crimes they commit while here changes the perception everyone has of Hispanics, Hispanic leaders need to deal with those bad apples rather than embracing and excusing their behaviors, black leaders need to do the same. it's time to stop blaming others for their own actions, it really makes them look stupid to anyone with intelligence.
