When asked directly today if he was aware the IRS was targeting conservatives, Obama avoided answering and instead said he wasn't aware of the "audit" concerning the targeting then moved on to a different subject.

This tells me he was aware of it and knows it will come out. When confronted he will say I never said I wasn't aware of it. Obama knew and just admitted it but of course the media are letting it slide.

No person has better informational and communicative capability than the president.

But Obama didn't know about the IRS targeting, even though Senators Schumer and Durbin had urged scrutiny of Tea Party tax matters?

Come on...

He just said ‘I.’ He should have said ‘nobody knew.’ He said just ‘I.’ He didn't say when he was asked about the IRS actions, he didn't say ‘I didn't know about the IRS actions.’ He says ‘I didn't know about the IG report.’ If you didn't know about any of this and never heard any complaints, then he would have said I’ didn't know anything about this at all.’”

What the White House is surely now concentrating on is whether any external source can prove Obama or others in the inner circle knew.

It is pretty safe to assume they all did know about the IRS, which had been engaged for two years in this targeting.

Senators Schumer and Durbin wrote letters urging the IRS to embark on such scrutiny of Tea Party folks...

What would be wrong even if Obama did know about it? It was investigated and the practice stopped before the public even found out about it. It's stopped, over, done, time to concentrate on those things that need to be changed not on those that have already been corrected.

Wasn't misuse of the IRS the second article of impeachment which Nixon would have faced?
