They had Second Amendment Protection Act in the name, thinking it would fool stupid people into thinking it was a Pro-Gun bill, and they were not (enough of them) stupid enough to fall for it.

I read a bill that was titled something like "Increased Energy and Supply Productivity Enhancement" and the bill was completely counter to increasing or enhancing energy production/productivity - it was also a Democrat created bill.

It's amazing how many Democrat bills have completely dishonest titles, and even more amazing how many people only read the title and not the contents before voting on them.

Finally a bipartisan bill that was worked out by both NRA backed republicans and democrats which has the support of 90% of the public was struck down by the NRA backed republicans.

Then Democrats need to draft a Bill concerning closing the gunshow loophole, instead tossing it in with a pork filled Bill with other restrictions on gun owner. Even if you support closing that loophole you either have vote yes or not on everything in the Bill, you can say I'm only voting yes on the loophole. Why are Democrats so dumn?

Actually, 96% of the country didn't care about Gun Control issues as much as they do most other things, it wasn't even in the top 5 concerns. They know that the Liberals GUN BAN proposals are not going to stop the violence and will only make good people criminals.

Cowards and misanthropes voted NO. Traitors to the American people interested only in their own jobs and cash streams and not in the good of the American people. Voted NO so that terrorists, gang members, and the violent can but weapons over the internet and at gun shows without either ID or background check.

Who would agree with that? It's obvious by the simple fact of who still has unrestricted access to guns and weapons of mass murder.

First of all the Bill failed because as usual liberals wanted the whole pie rather than making the Bill a reasonable one that might have been acceptable. Any Democrat immigration Bill will also fail for the same reason. They will put in the Bill provisions to insure all 22 million illegals (yes that's the real numbers) will be able to vote in the 2014 election even if they are still pending citizenship.

Second, what person in his right mind is going to give a private citizen selling a gun all your personal information including your SSN, Date of Birth and 30 other items of personal information so he cansend the information to run a background check on you before he can sell you the gun? Hell you would have people making more information off of selling your "life" than they did the gun they sold you. Criminals would come out of the woodwork selling guns cheap just so they could get "all" of your information. Once again you have liberals pushing a Bill that "helps" criminals while infringing on the rights of good citizens. Thank God it was voted down.

Bill Maher opened up the panel discussion on his show tonight talking about recent developments on gun control in the Senate. While tearing up, he lamented how Democrats have basically conceded the gun argument to the center-right, saying that they to a certain degree also indulge in the “fetishization” of guns, and declaring that someone on the left needs to stand up and say that the “Second Amendment is bullshit.”

So sad. All this totally false second amendment talk to justify malice, treason, and the ability of terrorists, traitors, and crazies to get weapons of mass murder.

Not matter how dishonestly you post, not matter how you try and misdirect, no matter how vile you are, one things is known and undisputed: the Majority of the Country supported voting AGAINST this bill.

Only 4% of American feel gun control is an issue. In the poll Obama kept referring to it asked if they were in favor of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and those with mental issues, 90% said yes, the poll didn't ask if they were in favor of what was in the Bill. Obama once again is using false data to support "his" agenda.

Also Obama claims most Americans are for immigration reforms. What Obama fails to acknowledge is that yes Americans want immigration reforms, we want illegals deported we don't want to open our borders to illegals and we don't want to allow them go around our current immigration laws for citizenship. That's the type of immigration reform Americans want but Obama pretends it means we want to give them all citizenship.
