Socialism doesn't actually "redistribute wealth", it consolidates it in the hands of an small band of elites. We see this happening in the Obama Administration. Those who scratch his back, receive Government handouts and exemptions from taxes and laws.

Our White House is now off limits to peons, while even tonight the First Lady throws a huge party with over 600 elite guests flying in from all parts of the Country in their private jest. Let it be clear that once Socialism is the law of the land, the elites will start taking away individual freedoms to enhance their power even more...hell they don't even have full control and they're already trying to do just that. Did you ever notice that these same "elites" are also the biggest hypocrites about living "frugally" or "green"?? In the White House it's one party after the next followed up with vacation after vacation, often involving over 10 jets to transport their limos, staff, security, friends and family. Global warming, sacrifices, being green???

In Socialist countries, the poor have no chance of ever becoming wealthy, whereas in Capitalist countries, with hard work, at least you have the chance. We're not a Socialist Country yet but Obama has already destroyed the chances for millions to become wealthy, our poverty numbers grow every day he is office. Let's just pray he doesn't regain control of the House in 2014, if he does, all pretenses will be gone, it will be full out socialism, the super elite will be given special rights while everyone else loses their rights. It will take place in plain view and we will be told it's for our own good...Obamabots will applaud their own demise.

As I have said here often, there is no difference in any particular kind of centrally managed economy. Managed by an executive government body or managed by a cabal of corporate executives and wealthy individuals, it's all the same. A managed economy, not a free market price coordinated economy. Wealthy always moves up to the wealth class in either case. It has nothing to do with socialism or capitalism. It has ever thing to do with concentration of power and a government that fails to regulate powerful business interests.

Trying to pin it on socialism is just an attempt by ignorant corrupt individuals to demonize that which they have no ability to understand. An all too common personality trait of stupid malice filled reactionary extremists who are much too willing to lie to make their totally false points.

And yet you fail to condemn Obama and his friends for making our country less in control by the people and more in control by the 1% that Obama is a clear part of. Obama is doing the things you've mentioned, yet you don't condemn him for it - makes you look dishonest and hypocritical. Socialism is the very definition of concentrating power in the hands of a few controlling the rest.

"free market" vs "crony capitalism/corporatism/lassiez fair" is endemic in our society. Yet, the real problem is the fucking wacko crazies that keep us focused on defending freedom, liberty, and equality under the law by trying to turn the country into a fundamentalism totalitarian "christian" state cast in the eyes of an elite few who determine mortality of all of us. Wackos, bigots, and racists co-opted by our powerful wealth class just so we never address real economic issues. Just so we never get close to the point of understanding that the Republican leadership is destructive reactionary and provide a screen for a Democratic corporatist party and we never address the rights and needs of the people of the United States.

Another fact for the Obamabots, socialism is when rich elitists decide who in the middle class has too much and redistributes 1/4 to the poor and 3/4 to themselves. It's happening now under Obama. The goal is to destroy the middle class, there is no place for independent thought in socialism, not being dependent on the Government allows that class a power only elites are entitled to.
