Keep Your Eye On The Prize

Note to politicians:
Keep your eye on the prize not your half-baked ideology (both sides.) This chart should shake up the entire country and cause our politicians to run for cover. Without turning this around the country will face much, much more pain. It could also result in civil unrest and complete government change. (For those that say complete government change is good-you haven't given that much thought.)

Not working and depending on Government hand outs is becoming the new norm as Obama continues to lower the bar. We are rapidly approaching the point of tipping since those still able to find jobs are tiring of all the weight that keeps increasing on their backs to carry those who don't work. When the remaining workers can not longer do it, civil unrest will saturate this Country...starting in the large liberal cities spreading as they fan out to take what they feel is owed them.

Yes, Snakeoil. You have you eye on the real economy.
All the bullying on fundamentalist religious morality is encouraged by those who don't want the real economic issues either revealed or discussed. Just keep taxes low for wealthy people and force religious dogma on all of us. Fuck freedom and equality. Fuck the rule of law. Spout false rhetoric about the Constitution. Rile up the haters like liar leroy and justupid. Win elections by gerrymandering the electoral college and keep minorities from voting,

Bilbo-I am not riling up anyone. This is the real economic problem in this country; the lack of jobs. Without putting the people back to work the only way is down. I'd like to see a study done to show how many of our problems would be solved automatically by full employment. Where is the money going to come from without a growing tax base? How can we keep the citizens satisfied with an unemployment picture that this chart shows? How long can we expect our people to put up with poverty and lack of hope? How long before our creditors demand their money; thereby sinking us even deeper into dispare?

Snake, good chart - it shows that after 7 years of Democratic President, that in 2000 the employment numbers started their downturn, matching the I.T. jobs bubble bust and the mass implementation of off-shore methods.
It also shows that the Republican President, and Republican Leaders, were able to hold it level until the Democrats took the Majority and, again, caused a loss of jobs, and it clearly shows that when Democrats have the Majority as well as a Democrat President, that Jobs always suffer.
I suspect that the Democraps will win big in 2014, and possibly again in 2016, and that it will take that to open the sheeps eyes to just how destructive the Democraps are.

A couple of points:
1. The chart is by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as shown on the chart.
2. The figures should be tempered by taking into account the retirees, youth, disabled and unable to work, those not seeking work regardless of the economy, the homeless and transients that can not be accurately counted,

Yep, and the key thing the chart shows is that Under Democrat Rule, Jobs suffer.

I have another take on the problem:
1. Can we afford to give tax breaks for moving jobs overseas?
2, Can we afford to give GE a $147 million tax refund after paying zero taxes in the first place?
3. Can we afford to exempt pipeline owners from taxes while their net profit is over 50%?
4. Can we exempt the NFL from all taxation even though they made $11 billion in 2010?
n
5. Can we afford to privatize our assets for immediate gains so that taxes will have to be raised today?
5. Can we afford to take a meat axe to government spending without harming the country?
6. Can we afford a do-nothing Congress closing their eyes to the ills of the country?
7. On the state level, can we afford to give tax breaks to companies, at a cost of $1 million per job, to locate on our state?
8. Can we afford to have a complex tax code that give massive tax breaks to special interests?
We are in an emergency. Can't we pass an emergency tax measure for only one year? What if we eliminate the mortgage deduction just for one year with a certain cap on the maximum tax? What if we tax each person $50 just for one year? What if we taxed each business a minimum tax just for one year?
These measures are stupid and will hurt but this is an emergency and something has to be done.

Keeping it simple and it work
- Flat consumption tax, do away with the IRS
- Reduce the size of our bloated Government
- Those in good health who receive Government handouts be required to do community projects
- "Aggressively prosecute" politicians who use their positions to enrich themselves, friends or family.
- Those who are here illegally go to the back of the line for those wanting to immigrate here, escort them back to their Country.
- Make it a requirement that you have to be an American citizen to buy land in America, as it is in most Countries
- Babies born in America to non citizens no longer get automatic citizenship.
- No early parole for violent criminals, an extra 10 years for any crime involving a weapon.
- If we fight another war (when) we go in kick ass, then get out, no Country rebuilding to try and win their hearts.

Personally, I see the chart like this:
1) Democrat rule shows constant Job Losses - negative economic impact - get Democrats out of office
2) No tax break/assistance for anything done outside the USA, not for any fragment of it
3) Pipeline taxes - I can see giving them a break, but only to about a 50% credit, never more, they must still pay tax
4) NFL - there is nothing worthy of tax breaks here, do completely away with any tax breaks
5) Privatize - yep, move away from the corruption and waste of Gov programs - there isn't a single gov program that can't be done better and more efficiently outside of government.
5) Meat Axe - to fix it, if we really want to fix it, it's going to hurt after so many decades of failure to do anything to fix it - too bad, it will do less harm in the long run if we just bite it now.
6) Remove all politicians, impose 2 term term limits, ban parties, pay only the average of what the workers in the state make, all bills must be voted on, impose fines for any politician that doesn't do their job
7) Bigger problem is giving breaks/money to companies that go bankrupt because they got a special deal from a political connection. If a company has a large investment to make, to move to a state, then I can see the same tax break as #3, about 50% for 5-10 years, but not local city, just state/fed level
8) Our tax code should be 1 page - Sales Tax, exclude Education, single Dwelling, Food, Medical, possibly retirement savings. All other items are taxed by the ONLY tax in the country.
What about the wasted money we spend on people not working, by choice?
What about the money we waste on educational programs that have no benefit?
What about retirement plans for Gov workers that exceed the dreams of non-gov workers?
What about taxing imports and not excluding parts/assemblies from that tax?
What about imposing a tax on companies that outsource outside the USA?
What about fining all politicians and gov workers unless the country/state has a balanced budget - and I'm not talking about giving it back to them once they come up with a budget....

High-3 Average Salary
Your “high-3” average pay is the highest average basic pay you earned during any 3 consecutive years of service. These three years are usually your final three years of service, but can be an earlier period, if your basic pay was higher during that period. Your basic pay is the basic salary you earn for your position. It includes increases to your salary for which retirement deductions are withheld, such as shift rates. It does not include payments for overtime, bonuses, etc. (If your total service was less than 3 years, your average salary was figured by averaging your basic pay during all of your periods of creditable Federal service).
Computation for Non-Disability Retirements
FERS Basic Annuity Formula Age Formula
Under Age 62 at Separation for Retirement, OR Age 62 or Older With Less Than 20 Years of Service
1 percent of your high-3 average salary for each year of service
Age 62 or Older at Separation With 20 or More Years of Service
1.1 percent of your high-3 average salary for each year of service

Why can a government worker get his/her retirement before the rest of us? Is sitting at a desk and doing 20 hours work a week dangerous?

Why can a government worker get his/her retirement before the rest of us? Is sitting at a desk and doing 20 hours work a week dangerous?
A long, long time ago, public workers made on average far less than their civilian counter parts, so to even things out the Government beefed up the public workers' benefits packages, then they beefed up the benefits again and again. Then the Government leaders said "hey, it's not my money" so they increased the salaries of public workers, they did it again, again and again. So now the average public worker not only have a far better benefit package, they also earn far more than the average civilian worker. If you've noticed during Obama's recession the only workers to loose pay, benefits and in many case their jobs... were, you guessed it civilian workers why the Government continue to hire like crazy and expand their budgets, get's back to the "hey, it's not my money" attitude of Government leaders.
So know you have public workers retiring on average 8 years earlier than their civilian counter parts with twice the pension and far better retirement benefits...but yet liberals and Government leaders want civilian workers to dig a little deeper in their pockets so they can use the money make life easier on public employees.

Ah, the twists and turns of the malice filled delusional liars. "It's all Obama's fault.". A clear statement of the liars. As I said. They keep their eyes on their lies and their distractions and distort real economics, the failure to create and support free markets with real regulations and enforcement. The coddling of racists, bullies, and corporate thieves.

Well the conservative backed massive government spending cuts, aka, austerity in Europe is obviously not working. It looks like as if they are headed into a triple drip recession.
The Obama stimulus package which focuses on demand and jobs is working much better than the conservative austerity program.

Obama has not created any NET jobs since he took office in 2008, and the only jobs he's created are TAX PAYER FINANCED jobs that don't improve things for our US Economy.
The spending cuts, while painful to the leeches of society, would be far more help in the long run than anything Obama has claimed.

UH, more liar leroy bullshit. What can one expect? Nothing more.
Let's see about the Republican effort to create jobs: 1,000,000,000 bills to outlaw abortion, birth control, sex ed, and sex.
Another 1,000,000,000 bills to destroy the economy and the middle class.
Another 1,000,000,000 bills to bankrupt the country.
Yes, this is all hyperbole, but still makes and honest point. (Yes, liar leroy, we all know the lies you will tell to attempt a counter, and fail.)
