Now I really don't see what the big deal is over this. Because from serving time in the national guard, the vast majority of women don't want those jobs. And for instance, the vast majority of women who attend Ranger school flunk out anyway.

I didn't bother with Army, but, did you notice that there is a significant difference between Men and Women for the Standards? Yep, women are not expected to provide as much strength or endurance as Men in the Military - and that figures into Every non-desk job in any branch.
"Just like the Army, the Marines use results from the Physical Fitness Test as part of their enlisted promotion system."
Additionally, the Women get additional time, already, for their CFT Requirement - "Maneuvering under fire" testing - women get more than 30 seconds additional time, closer to 45 seconds in the 17-26 age group.
All of these "Easier" testing standards show that the Military understands that there IS a difference between men and women, which anyone would be stupid to deny, but it also shows that the Military has been polluted by liberal think - meaning that the zealots that lower the stands and then put women in combat with men are not thinking about the PHYSICAL side of combat at all - Do you really believe that your Average woman is going to hump farther, carry a wounded soldier faster/farther, etc... than the Average man in the same branch - NOPE, and that's a reasonable expectation. Worse yet, women, because of the easier standard can get promoted faster than men, and, since Men/Women have separate advancement paths for the same rate/mos, it means that less men get good duty stations as they have to make room for women that can't be assigned some hazardous duty.
To be fair and honest, the Military needs to remove Gender from their testing, all of it, and put both men and women under the same advancement tree, in competition with each other. But we know that this won't happen, being fair, because liberals won't allow it to happen.
