I flash often, and on occasion have walked the halls in hotels and resorts. I was caught and given a stern warning by local authorities that if I get caught again I could get charged and if convicted it might never be removed as a sexual offender.

Any know if this is true?

It's going to depend on way more factors than I would even try and go into here.

But a lot depends on local laws and your lawyer.

I know that a few years ago a male was pulled over while driving nude. He was arrested, charged, and released on bail. When he went in for court his lawyer presented the fact that his client was "simply nude" and had not engaged in any lewd or lascivious behaviors. The case ended up being dismissed.

Same state, man and woman were out on a beach a short distance from their hotel and decided to skinny dip. It was at night and dark. A woman walking down the beach with her child saw the man exit the water to get dressed and called the police. He was charged and found guilty.

There is a risk involved, so be aware of your surroundings. That being said, you can flash pretty much anyplace. Hell, LJ's done it at Disney's Epcot Center.

I would say more indecent exposure, sex offender is some one that has sex with someone like a teenager, or someone it is forced on. Look up sex offender and see what it says, I don't think flash is consider that at all.

It is illegal where I live, but could get ticked indecent exposure. Yes it would go on your record and I don't know if you were caught over and over if it could be a bigger charge. But not sex offender.

Depends on your particular state and local laws. They vary all across the country (and world).

Some places do not prohibit nudity, just lewd behavior. Others have even banned thongs on the beach.

You might get arrested for showing too much anywhere. Whether they take the case to trial and win a conviction is another matter. Many cases are dismissed if you stand your ground. But if your intent was titillation, you might have more difficulties in winning any trial.

But yes, locally a few years ago, some St. Patrick's street partiers were arrested for urinating in an alley for public exposure, and given the sex offender label. This in a city that makes no arrest for the World Naked Bike Rides and naked partying afterwards. Go figure out that one.

There are good "it depends" answers so I won't comment on that.

I will note however my OBSERVATION that GENERALLY a naked woman is perceived to be non-threatening while a nude male is perceived to be a danger. Sad but, understandably true. Wife sometimes pushes me to play with my exhibitionist side but I am ALWAYS extremely careful for just this reason.
