Just who is Grover Norquist and how did he get so much power over the GOP?
I mean what would happen if a Rep Senator just told him to "pound sand" you know where.Does he have so much power as a lobbiest he controls McConnell And Bohner? I mean the dude only remembers to shave but once a week....

Grover is simply the front man for a group of uber wealthy people who want no taxes. THEY finance campaigns. They are behind the primary challenges to rational people who don't comply.

Norquist isn't the problem. He never put a gun to anyone's head and slammed a paper on the table and forced someone at gunpoint to sign the document.

I agree, there's a reason they were elected. With winning the election comes an obligation to do what conservatives sent them there to do. They need to grow some balls and tell Obama to stuff his socialist agenda.

The fundamental problem in today's politics is the selection of radical reactionary candidates in Republican primaries. That is what one should expect of a party which has a ruling leadership coalition of white racists, autocratic religious fundamentalists, and self aggrandizing uber wealth. Any true conservative or fiscal conservative is drowned out. Any real libertarian is drowned out. Any real moderate is drowned out. Uber wealth plays the miscreants of our country for their own benefit within the Republican party.
