A Maryland woman has kept track of every tax that her family has paid this year. To date, she has paid $26,103.93 in taxes. By the end of the year she estimates that the total will exceed $30,000 which is about 27% of her and her husbands income.

I wish I only paid 27% total taxes. Hell our "basic" State sales tax alone is 9%, then there's $710.00 a month property taxes, after Federal, State and local taxes I'm paying around 63% of my income in taxes.

You can't fill up your tank, make a call, stay at a hotel, eat or fart without paying either Federal, State or local taxes and some items you pay all 3. Not to mention the money held out of your check by the State and Federal Government prior to you even seeing your money. Even the people who don't pay Federal income tax pay more than 27% in taxes when you add up everything they're taxed on.

I wish Romney and his ilk paid their fair share. However, our corporatist Congress will do everything possible to give away preferences to high wealth individuals and corporations.
