Problem Viewing Photos

On every contri, only half of the pic loads, the rest is greyed out. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?

I've restarted and rebooted already.

I also have problems viewing photos. Only the top 10% of the photos come through. Same is true for Redclouds.

Only execption is on BB forums in Redclouds, they work fine.

Can anyone help out. Is there a place to report problems such as this??

I have tried to replicate this, but I am not having any issues when I try to load the pages. Do you see any error messages when this occurs? What happens if you use another browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox?

Hmmm...I have tested it across a few browers and it does work fine for me on Chrome, IE, and FireFox.
What happens if you try clearing your internet browser's history
(cookies, cache, etc)?

If you need help with doing so, this link should be very helpful:
http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answ ... swer=32050

I have informed the tech department about this issue, and they are looking into it as well. If you have any additional information it would assist greatly in diagnosing this issue, for anyone having this issue please PM me the browser version you are using as well as if you see any sort of error message when the photo is trying to load.

Hallo,
we have the same problem starting from about a week, only on VW.
It happens only on my laptop using all browsers, wife laptop is ok and pur desktops are ok too.
Cleaning cache doesn't resolve the problem.
So I think it could be related with some SO option or installed software (but we have almost the same on every pc) that are not compatible with something new in VW pics

There are all kinds of complaints on the Explicit BB about the site being slow.

A slow site will cause pictures to half download kinda like back when we had a dial up connection.

The photo issue appears to be occurring only on the VW/RC sites, not the BBs from all indications, and as everyone is not having trouble viewing the photos or experiencing slow loading times, I do not believe that the issue is a slow server. Originally, I had thought that it could be that the specific user has a slow connection to the internet, as it could be possible for the photos to only partially load if this were the case. However as shown by Saturn, if two out of three computers are showing photos (and I am assuming they have the same internet connection speed, please let me know Saturn), it is extremely unlikely that it has to do with speed of either the site or the user. The tech guys have been tweaking many things on the server to discover the reasoning behind this issue, however duplicating the problem has been part of the trouble.

Kiki, you are right. It's not a connection speed issue as some PCs are ok and only one is bad on same connection. The bad PC doesn't not function using a different conection too.
PC runs for a while (more than usual) then stops, sometimes with strange results, as in the attached snapshot from a new contri.
It happens on all pics in contris full view, most in daily preview and front page too.
It seems that something doesn't allow normal pics opening. I tried to set less privacy restrictions in browsers (adblock, pop ups and so on) but without results on all browsers.
I wish it could be useful, stay well

It would seem that a number of comments are going missing from the feedback in both the tit and ass flash sections...and from what I've seen, the comments are not the type that are offensive in any way. Is this perhaps related to the issues that you are having with the photos...it started about the same time.

Did you notice if any of the comments had .com (possibly if they left an email address)? We do have a spam blocker that such comments might have gotten caught in as it tries to catch all website .com's that tend to be spam (although email addresses ARE allowed and not discouraged). Please let me know if you see a comment that disappears and the content of it so I can look into it. This should not have anything to do with the photo issue from what the tech guys can tell, as they have isolated the problem and are in the process of fixing it.

The '.com' thing might be the problem with some of this missing comments as I did leave my email address in a few of them...but not all of them. And that has never been a problem before that I'm aware of. Is this spam blocker a new addition? If so, it's not preventing people from incorporating their email addresses in their name. And would this blocker remove comment after they were posted instead of blocking them before hand? The ones that I've seen removed were all posted normally.

I'll let you know if I see any more comments deleted that did not have an email address in them.

If the intention is to use a spam blocker to reduce spam, then I would have to ask if spam has been a problem...I haven't seen any to be concerned with. Besides, there are easy ways around it. All it's going to do is to make it a little more difficult for contributor and fans to get in contact with each other privately...it's not going to prevent spam.

I just want to say I thought it was odd that I tried to leave a few Thank You comments on my contri today in Rc and many of my messages would appear at first and say they were accepted and then disappear shortly after.
I thought that was very strange and have no idea as to why that happened.

Please let me know if you ever notice this happening again with the comments, the issue should be solved. If you do notice any comments (that are not spam or harassing) disappearing please PM me the URL that it occurred on. Thanks!

As far as the photos half loading go, it appears that the culprit is the user's individual anti-virus, Kaspersky Internet Security especially seems to be the issue here. Please let me know if you are still having trouble with photos loading only a percentage even after you disable your anti-virus or switch to one other than Kaspersky. However, it seems that if you have updated Kaspersky Internet Security to latest version you will not have any issues. If you already have Kaspersky the update is free, just go here: http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/product-updates

Kiki you are right. I use Kaspersky Anti Virus (latest version, and not Internet security). Suspending it, I can load pics well.
Maybe there is still something strange, because I use Kaspersky Anti Virus on all 4 PCs, but the problem is only on one of them.

Thank you
Saturn

don't forget to turn it back on until you find a replacement.

You can take Lucky's recommendation of using Microsoft's fix to Microsoft's OS, but I wonder why they just didn't update their OS rather than making some other application?

MS was late to the game in getting into the AV/Firewall/etc software arena, and everyone had gone to Norton/McAfee/etc. When they finally got serious, they made MS Security Essentials an add-on to rather than a part of the overall Windows OS. In practice, it is seamless.

Will it stop the Pango Virus. Some on the explicit BBs seem to have it.
