Sup Ct Ruling on Classifying

In Navy v. Egan, a 1988 case, there was a unanimous decision from the Sup Ct saying the president’s ability to classify and control access to national security information flows from the Constitution. He decides. He alone decides.

If Trump declassified the material, which he apparently did by letter before leaving the WH, that's it.

Also, we need to be clear that no president has the SOLE copy of any classified document. We have computers, and copies, and hard drives, and tape backups of hard drives. So there is no document which Archives needs to retrieve (they have them all already).

Further, in retirement, a president has the same security clearance he in office.

"If Trump declassified the material, which he apparently did by letter before leaving the WH, that's it."-johnfibs

Too bad this fantasy letter has never been seen by anyone in the government because it doesn't exist. You made it up.

Meanwhile, Trump is on an audio recording admitting that some of the documents in his possession were NOT declassified and that he knew he didn't have the power to declassify them.

“As president, I could have declassified, but now I can’t,” Trump said.
“Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this,”
“This was done by the military and given to me."-July 2021 meeting, in which the former president acknowledged that a Pentagon document in his possession about a potential attack on Iran remained classified.

So your silly amateur argument has as much substance as a fart in the wind, johnny.
But I'm not surprised you don't believe a word Trump says. With his track record for lying, why would you?

No, that letter is easy to find.

We have this thing -- how shall I explain it to the dull cognitive acuity of Clowntroller? -- called the Worldwide Interwebs.

Look up Berners-Lee, who apparently was the son of Bruce Lee and Kathie Lee Gifford.

Whoever tells a US President, you can't do this .....
That is the one running the country....not the President. :O

Well, I checked the web for Berner's-Lee as johnfibs suggested.

There was no letter showing Trump declassified the documents before he left the White House.

johnforbes made it up.

Or more accurately, his handlers made it up and he swallowed it without question, as always.
