Courtesy of Reuters we know: more than 5 million barrels of oil that were part of the historic U.S. SPR release were exported to Europe and Asia last month, including top US geopolitical nemesis in the global arena, China, even as U.S. gasoline and diesel prices hit record highs.

The export of crude and fuel is blunting the impact of the moves by U.S. President Joe Biden to lower record pump prices. In a widely mocked call, Biden on Saturday renewed a call for gasoline suppliers to cut their prices, drawing rightful criticism from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos

About 1 million barrels per day have been drained from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve through October, an unprecedented pace. The drain means SPR inventories fell to the lowest since 1986. US crude futures are above $100 per barrel and gasoline and diesel prices above $5 a gallon in one-fifth of the nation. US officials have said oil prices could be higher if the SPR had not been tapped, and for once they are right. Still, the question looms of what happens to oil prices when the US can no longer sell the SPR amid concerns of a real emergency: we know the answer and the Biden admin won't like it.

"The SPR remains a critical energy security tool to address global crude oil supply disruptions," a Department of Energy spokesperson said, adding that the emergency releases helped ensure stable supply of crude oil.

Since oil prices are set GLOBALLY, it's a good thing oil was sent to counties around the world, since that is the only way to lower GLOBAL oil prices, which are the only kind of oil prices there are.

This lowered prices in the U.S., which was the aim of the move for the protection of our national security, dummy.

A ban of oil exports would not do anything meaningful in reducing the price of gasoline. I imagine it would be a windfall for oil refiners in the United States. Then they would probably export the excess anyway. Perhaps the implementation of renewable energy sources (solar/wind) and electric vehicles would be more effective in reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

But the whole notion of a strategic reserve is that it could help the U.S.

Sending it overseas defeats the entire purpose.

And now it is known that in April 950,000 barrels were sold to a company in which one of Hunter's investments holds a significant stake.

Accident? Perhaps.

Corruption? Somebody ought to at least examine the possibility.

Had Trump's son done anything remotely like that, news outlets would cover it 25 hours per day.

Maybe someone should investigate why Kushner got a 2 billion dollar investment from the Arabian Bonesaw murderer. Not to mention all of the other grifting that Ivanka and Jared engaged in....

It isn't an either/or.

If Kushner, a guy with MBA and JD degrees who was worth about 200 million before he even got any access to political power, did anything wrong then sure investigate.

But it seems mighty suspicious when almost a million barrels of oil from America's strategic reserve get shipping to a Chinese firm with ties to Hunter's business.

Why are people drawn, like moths to a flame, to power in DC?

For further clarification......from what I understand Hunter Biden is not a member of the firm that purchased a stake in Sinopec. Nor was Hunter Biden a member of the firm at the time of the sale from the reserves. And the sale was made via an auction to the highest bidder which was Sinopec.

So as usual Johnnie stepped in another steaming pile of his own bullshit again...
