Go do your own homework, dimwit.
You bore me with your constant irrelevant partisan idiocies.

But it is highly germane.
This was pulled because it couldn't distinguish covid from the flu, which is probably why flu cases dropped from 39 million to 2,100 in the year 2020.

Okay, let's just say, for the sake of argument, that 70,000 people actually died of flu that looked exactly like COVID.
Now, what about the other 540,000 U.S. deaths, johnny? Isn't that number enough to tell you that COVID is not as benign as the flu? The numbers tell us it is at least seven times as deadly as flu. That is what is actually germane, not your purely partisan distractions from a very real pandemic.
Stop your whining about things that are irrelevant to the average American and get vaccinated (flu AND COVID, dimwit. If everyone did that you wouldn't have to start stupid threads like this one.) and wear your mask when around people.
This is not a political issue. It isn't an argument as you are pretending. It's science and it's serious and people are dying because you continue to enable them to continue with their irresponsible partisan political behavior.
Stop helping people argue about how they have a right to endanger and kill others. They don't.
Now stop boring everyone with your idiotic irrelevancies.

What are the relative mortality rates?
Now, of course, it is true that to compare them we have to acknowledge lockdowns, distance, masks, hand sanitizer and such.
Bear in mind, I do follow the science.
For folks 50 to 69, the covid survival rate is 99.5 percent.
For over 70, it is 94.6 percent, so covid like the flu places the elderly at greater risk.

johnforbes is one of those dimwits who "feels" like something that costs $9.99 is a whole lot cheaper than something that costs $10.
What is .5% of two billion, johnny? You seem to think that's a small number.
"But it's only .5%!"-dishonestjohn
Stop trying to create the partisan illusion that COVID isn't a serious threat to humanity. It's unforgivably irresponsible of you.

When, in calm hindsight, this episode is examined, lockdowns may well turn out to have been the dumbest public health measure in a century.
Intentionally destroying jobs, and locking people down causing anxiety, depression, divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, substance abuse, spousal abuse, violated what Hippocrates said on the specific topic of epidemics -- "First, do no harm."
