Thanks to Global Warming...

Were it not for purported Global Warming, many would have frozen to death as this brutal winter encased almost every state in ice.
Even today, calcium choloride is necessary to attack the ice welded to the noble roof of my humble abode.
Thoughts?

Conservatives are frozen in the ice age....in a figurative and literal sense.
Let's see how long it will take for the federal government to bail out Texas for failing to winterize their grid.

I have girded my loins for this grid thread.

I think it's safe to say that Texas is off the grid....or did they get saved by the warm weather?

The latter, according to friends in Houston.

So Texans need warm weather to save themselves...from themselves.
From what I understand they recently wanted to secede and now they are begging for government handouts because it got a little cold and snowed a couple of inches. I wonder how many well armed preppers got stuck at home because they didn't have a snow shovel?
LOL

No, that is not a logical conclusion.
After a storm, warm weather helps melt snow and ice, and that is the logical conclusion here.

OK....so you agree with me that Texass got bailed out by the warm weather. Because they obviously can't deal with the cold weather and a few inches of snow.

johnny always tries to pretend he disagrees with you when he actually agrees with you.
He's such a partisan pussy that he thinks he will lose his dimwitted asshole membership card if the rest of the dimwitted assholes hear he has an opinion contrary to theirs.
And it's true. Republicans can't tolerate a difference of opinion, going so far as to censure Representatives or Senators who properly voted their conscience instead of voting the party line. Republicans believe any disagreement with the party is a moral and ethical failing, which proves they cannot tolerate a difference of opinion.

If I wanted to deal with the cold I would move to International Falls, Minnesota...

I was merely following the science.
When you have snow and ice, what tends to melt them is warmer weather.

And now they have removed the mask and social distancing mandates in Texas. Apparently the conservative anti science politicians are finding new and innovative ways of getting people killed.

Elkin, please.
Go watch "Seven Men from Now," the classic film starring Randolph Scott, and you will understand that covid can't mess with Texas.

Prosecuting litterbugs is more important than science education and securing the grid.
From what I understand, rate payers are going to get stuck with paying an extra 3 billion dollars because they didn't bother to regulate natural gas prices.
Atmos Energy Corp., a U.S. distributor of natural gas, is looking to raise cash after committing to spend as much as $3.5 billion to secure fuel during last week’s unprecedented winter freeze.
The financial squeeze illustrates the turmoil caused by a chronic shortage of gas in Texas and other states after sub-zero temperatures froze up wells and pipelines. Prices at delivery hubs surged to hundreds of times their normal levels after buyers scrambled to secure supplies.
