They criticized Democrats for it and even sued over it because they felt so strongly about the sacred principle of the thing.

But now the same Republicans who claimed proxy voting was unConstitutional are using proxy voting (giving the pandemic as their excuse) so that they can do some non-essential pandemic travel to attend the CPAC superspreader event instead of being in D.C. doing their jobs?

They are actually censuring members of their party for doing nothing other than their job--voting in Congress.

Republicans, being incapable of tolerating a difference of opinion within their party, actually believe that simply voting "yay" is morally bad and worthy of censure just because they disagree with it and voting "nay" is good. CPAC is further proof of this fact. If you heard Ted Cruz talk at CPAC you would have seen he offered no policies or plans for the future of America. Trump never seemed to ever want to collude with America....even once.
