That's why you don't get that global warming means the temperatures over the entire world are rising.

The particular weather in Texas today is not "climate" you ignoramus. It's weather.

And the extremes in both directions of heat and cold, and '100 year' hurricanes and floods every five years, are only going to get worse down there because of the rising global temperature.

You're just too stupid to understand that this cold spell of weather is exactly what is predicted and to be expected from global warming.

(Bloomberg) -- Don’t point too many fingers at Texas wind turbines, because they’re not the main reason broad swaths of the state have been plunged into darkness.

While ice has forced some turbines to shut down just as a brutal cold wave drives record electricity demand, that’s been the least significant factor in the blackouts, according to Dan Woodfin, a senior director for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which operates the state’s power grid.

The main factors: Frozen instruments at natural gas, coal and even nuclear facilities, as well as limited supplies of natural gas, he said. “Natural gas pressure” in particular is one reason power is coming back slower than expected Tuesday, added Woodfin.

I actually worked on the construction of an atomic plant when I was a kid.*

There were plans to prevent controls from freezing up.

They disconnected from the country's grid so that they didn't have to follow the USA guidelines of that pesky Federal Government. The natural gas lines are install not as deep as the gas lines in the rest of the country. (After all, Texas is hot and sunny right?)

There are windmills in extreme cold weather locations throughout the planet....Antarctica, Canada, Norway, Finland...etc. So if windmills were shut down in Texas during the cold weather then the issue is not with the windmills. The issue is the fact that it's profitable to allow windmills to fail during cold weather.
