The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has halted its clinical trial of hydroxychloroquine, saying that while there are no ill side effects, the anti-malaria drug provides no benefit to COVID-19 patients.
"A data and safety monitoring board (DSMB) met late Friday and determined that while there was no harm, the study drug was very unlikely to be beneficial to hospitalized patients with COVID-19," the NIH said in a statement.
It added, "The data from this study indicate that this drug provided no additional benefit compared to placebo control for the treatment of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients."

It will be interesting to read more about the rationale for this.
My interest -- in March as today -- is in whether some extant Rx like ivermectin or hcq might prove efficacious.
This has been such a weird year that the Democrats are actually rooting against hcq and hoping it won't help sick people because their hatred of Trump is that far out of control.

I root for stuff that works.
And we sure are going to need something after Trump's coronavirus incubation rally.

Wait, you have the wrong message.
You are supposed to say Trump can't draw an overflow crowd.
If he had fought off the Dems buying fake tickets, then you would be giving the super spreader baloney speech.
Please correct your talking points.

No Dems bought fake tickets, johnny. You made it up.
First of all, if they bought ANY tickets at all, they were quite real, dimwit. Or are you accusing Trump of selling fake tickets?
The way Trump sold fake university educations, I guess I could concede your absurd point.
Secondly, the campaign screened the applicants for party affiliation through previous voting records. They didn't sell Democrats any tickets in the first place.
Thirdly, it is quite proper to say two things about Trump's stupidity at once. Everything he does is wrong for a variety of reasons, just as every post YOU make is always wrong for multiple reasons.
Nobody is quite so expert at making a simple statement that contains so many factual, logical, and reasoning mistakes in those few words the way you do.
Please correct your ignorance.

They said they did, and then bragged about it.
Let's be honest here -- the young Democrats are anarchists who loathe law and order.
Hopefully, Clownslacker will correct the ignorance of his talking points.
As to correcting his own personal ignorance, that is another matter -- and a far larger task
