johnny, you really need to sign up for remedial English classes with RealTool.

That is not at all the same thing. A gunfighter is standing up and then is shot and killed and he falls down.

Thus, he has been "shot down" from a standing position.

But a boat floats on water, and when it is shot, it just keeps floating. It doesn't fall down so it obviously isn't "shot down" is it.
