What can we look forward to?

Dr Smith, the infectious disease guy, said that he thought widespread use of HCQ would mark the beginning of the end of the pandemic (particularly because docs and nurses have started taking HCQ to ward off virus and not just because they might have it).

I predict a deep but short recession.

When shuttered industries and shut‑in workers can start the transition back to normal life—probably sometime in May—growth should resume.

Solid pre‑virus underpinnings in the busin
ess and household sectors and the unprecedented policy response should help short‑circuit a prolonged recession.
Severe restrictions have been imposed on roughly half of the country, and government‑enforced social distancing measures, including stay‑at‑home orders, are likely to proliferate in the near term. I currently anticipate that the breadth of measures in place—and their drag on economic activity—will reach maximum intensity during the first half of April.

From that point, output should have nowhere to go but up

I agree John, it'll be a deep but short recession.

Besides the threat of the virus, the dredges from the hoods are going to turn liberal cities into jungles in a few weeks. Crime is up 75% in NYC already with just 20% of their police force out, just wait until it's 50% out, the liberals will be wishing they had bought guns when the thugs start forcing their way into homes. I predict NYC will soon have to call out the National Guard to patrol their streets but the liberals will put so many restrictions on the Guard members that they'll be more for show and many of the Guard members will become victims themselves.

It's going to get really bad, but good things will happen when we recover, liberal failures will become painfully clear.

Oh crud....RealTool, our infallible negative indicator, just insured that this recession is going to be a long-lasting doozy that could easily turn into a global depression.

When will he learn to keep his mouth shut already?

Reading Clowntoker's posts has put into a deep depression.

I'm on the ledge now, with only my taut thighs -- their bronzed musculature gleaming in the late afternoon sun -- protecting me from doom.

Trump: We’ll soon be down to zero cases.

Also Trump : There’s going to be a whole lot of deaths.

Everybody got this wrong at the outset, just as Obama did his flu crisis.

On Feb 17, Fauci called the risk "minuscule" and stated there was "absolutely" no need "whatsoever" to wear a mask.

Can anyone explain why Trump-supporter johnforbes was out on the weekend in sixty degree weather without pants on?

Apparently, like hookers, he wears short shorts in all weather to show off his legs to attract Truckers down at the freeway rest stop.

Come on, Clown, the kids today wear shorts all winter.

I at least wait for warm weather.

There is, however, a problem.

My cargo shorts have approximately 129 pockets and I can recall where I left my keys.

johnny's excuse for not wearing pants? "Everybody's doing it." :/

And if everybody jumped off a cliff, would you do that as well, johnny? (Thanks for that one, Mom)

But it IS hilarious that you think it is fine to behave like an adolescent. It explains your childish support of Trump and his ridiculous pep rallies

A word of advice, johnny.....grow up and start thinking for yourself.

Wish you had told me the cliff one before I made all those jumps in the Army out of a perfectly good plane.

It's no accident that they get 18-year-olds to do it for them, johnny.

Impressionable kids will do ANYTHING to feel part of the crowd.

Just like simple minded Republicans will. Look at the nonsense they cheer about at Trump rallies.

No accident at all.

The corcorans and silver wings seemed like a good idea at the time, and they did impress my girlfriend's father when we went to White Lake, NC to visit.

And my Uncle Bob, who had dropped out of seminary training after Pearl Harbor. He was a rifleman on Iwo and saw the second flag-raising which was captured by Joe Rosenthal.

Bob went on to have 7 kids and become president of a bank before he smoked and drank himself to death. Great guy.

The REAL first flag raised over Iwo Jima came off my Dad's ship.

He never could tell me where it went after it was taken down for the second one.

Either way, it was no time to visit the Volcano Islands.

After Bob died, I was one of the people called on to paint the interior walls of his condo.

It took 3 coats of paint to cover the nicotine stains. His morning schedule was to go to a bar as soon as it opened and remain there until late evening.

He left his estate to the American Battle Monuments Commission, which helps with (among others) the Clark Veterans Cemetery I've visited in the Philippines, the Guadalcanal Memorial in the Solomon Islands where my other uncle served, and the wonderful Montfaucon Monument in France which everybody should visit.

Well, I'm fortunately right now in a country that seems to handle the virus quite well, but in the future, the thing I'll be looking forward to will probably be to one of these houses in Greece, where I intend to be as autosufficient as possible with my family. Fortunately, I'm able to do my job from home....

"Three-storey sunny house 500 meters from the sea, Korfos, Korinthia, Greece
300,000 €
Total area 212 m²Land area: 650 m² 4 bedrooms 3 bathrooms"

Okay, Shilden, what's wrong with it?

Others have said that is a decent locale at this point.

Not my cup of tea, even in winter, but many love it.

Nothing, really; it's a normal price for Europe, as from my experience, it's just real estate in the US of A that's REALLY expensive. Although, to be fair, Greece is cheaper compared to Spain or Italy due to the aftermath of the 2008 crisis (my wife wanted "a house on the Mediteranean", so I looked at many different places)

Plus, it looks like it's in a village or small city, where houses are much cheaper than in capitals and other big cities: for example, my parents in law's 3600 sq ft house with a barn and enough space for beekeeping in the French countryside is less expensive than a 100 sq ft studio in Paris.
