In the time Fauci has spent dismissing HCQ, he could have launched a clinical trial and had 3 weeks of precious data.

Instead, Fauci talks on TV.

FDA approves HCQ...

...which means the U.S government will be buying the drugs for the stockpile. It doesn't mean the drug works or that it will even be used. Trials won't tell us that for weeks or months.

What FDA approval does is give taxpayer money to drug companies when we don't yet know if the drug works against COVID-19.

A cynical person might say this is just one more case consistent with Trump's track record of giving windfall money to corporations.

Cynical people could conclude that leftists did not want HCQ (a cheap drug with over 60 yrs of use) to help solve this problem.

Now I'm hopeful it was merely Fauci's arrogance, and not some more fundamental desire to prolong this mess.
