Thanks to my gold holdings and other wise investments, much better than most people's 401ks. In fact today I snapped up some stocks that are artificially low due to this coronavirus scare. There are some great buys out there.

But just so that everyone else can look at your lying for what it is, you CLAIMED you bought the stock around October 7, 2014 when the share price was about $66. For the next year it nose dived to $42. Then it traded down to $37 in 2017, having never risen above $63 all that time. Then it plummeted to $30 last year. That's probably when you sold.

On November 2, 2014 you were still pushing the stock when you posted "Now I'm telling you Fluor is a good investment, I'm not saying to need to sell everything and move into Fluor but it certainly should be part of your portfolio."

There was no time you could have sold it for more that $66 because it didn't go above $63 at any time after November 2014.

That's how I know you didn't "make a killing" in FLR. You made it up, as you make up all the bullshit you post. It is impossible that you could have made a cent on the stock as the share price history shows.

Cap gains are from share price appreciation.

And dividends and share repurchases are a redistribution of capitial....nothing is lost or gained. Money just doesn't appear out of thin air.

So come back to us when you get a clue.

johnny, surely you know that, except for the dividends you mentioned, ALL those other ways to make money from stocks is through share price appreciation. But they can still also be ways to lose money on stocks.
capital gains--are only realized upon the sale of shares and only exist if the share price has gone up--FLR didn't
buybacks-- may increase share price because of fewer shares available with same demand---MAYBE--price may continue to go down
splits-- lower price per share to increase demand, and thus share price MAY go up or may go down.

But the real bottom line, johnny, is that RealTool didn't make a nickel off his shares in any of those ways. The price started down drastically right after he bought in. The stock didn't split. The company didn't have a buy back that increased the price above his purchase price. Tool had no capital gains on FLR, so why try to make it sound like I'm wrong somehow when RealTool is the one making a fool of himself here. Why don't you ridicule HIM, johnny? You have to know he's a fool.
