How did the media and polls get UK's election so wrong?

Corbyn's bloodbath defeat in UK election sends 'catastrophic warning' to 2020 Dems. The UK’s election Thursday was no less historic with Liberals suffering their worse defeat in over 80 years since 1935. The voters were clear – they put the United Kingdom before the European Union, the UK’s sovereignty before accepting direction from Brussels, and the people of the U.K. before the needs of a mass influx of immigrants from poorer Eastern Europe. Conservatives now control every branch of U.K.'s government for the first time in over 80 years.

I'm impressed that RealTool is telling us Conservatives now own everything that's coming next year.

Mark the day.

Pollsters in 2016 were doing the same thing -- saying Hillary would win easily so that Repub voters would not bother to vote.

Even the exit polls on Nov 8, 2016 favored Hillary, and that was to suppress Repub voters with polls still open.

johnflubs still refuses to recognize that the exit polls on Nov. 8 were correct-- Hillary got 3 million more votes than Trump.

It wasn't "to suppress Repub voters". It was to report the facts.

No, their intent was to sway those who had not yet voted.

I've always said that no hint of outcome, even an exit poll, should be permitted on TV or Internet until all voting is done with.

That way, media outlets could not attempt to sway elections -- which, very clearly, they are trying to do.

The Brexit polls, like the 2016 polls, were not wrong -- they were attempts to influence people who had not yet voted.

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Conservative Party was swept back into government Friday after the country's general election handed it an overwhelming parliamentary majority. Prime Minister Johnson gave partial credit for the results, to the public impeachment hearings of President Trump. "The blatant abuse of power by liberals to oust an elected President, because they don't like him; was an eye opener to what would happen if the Labour Party had gained control in the U.K."
