Political discussions about everything

Trump was correct, he said that NATO is a sham where the United States has been shedding American blood and American tax dollars all these years to protect NATO member Germany and if the United States ever calls on Germany to contribute forces they will refuse to do so. Well they just proved Trump correct.
The U.S. has requested naval cooperation from Germany in the Strait of Hormuz as tensions with Iran escalate, but the political leaders of the European nation have refused to assist their NATO allies.

The German Federal Foreign Office said that Washington has approached them to contribute to a new surveillance mission in the Persian Gulf but had rejected the appeal saying there was no prospect of a contribution. Germany’s allies, including the U.S. and the UK, have been attacked in the Persian Gulf by Iran in recent months. and under the doctrine of collective defence guaranteed by the NATO alliance, Germany is duty-bound to come to the aid of its allies if asked. Yet senior members of Angela Merkel’s left-centrist coalition government have made clear working with the U.S. is out of the question.

A spokesman for the U.S. embassy to Germany confirmed: “We have formally asked Germany to work with France and Britain to help secure the Strait of Hormuz and fight Iranian aggression.”

Germany strongly relies on the free flow of oil tankers that pass through the Strait of Hormuz from the Persian Gulf to the rest of the world. Britain’s Royal Navy describes the bottleneck as one of the most vital waterways in the world for trade, and that one-third of all the world’s oil flows through it in tankers every day. Germany's foreign policy spokesman Nils Schmid explained that German cargo ships haven't been attacked and that are enough U.S. naval resources in the Strait of Hormuz area to insure the safety of future ships passing through the strait.

Germany’s position contrasts strongly with that of South Korea, which is not a member of the NATO alliance, but which nonetheless is considering contributing to the security of the Persian Gulf, Breitbart London reported.

Maybe if the U.S. hadn't crammed a constitution down Germany's throat after WWII that doesn't allow them to have offensive forces, then they would have the non-hippie troops to send to do an offensive job.

What do you think, johnny? Would a new German constitution help with your disingenuous complaints?

Germany for years has outsourced their defense to the United States and then having us pay to defend them, they didn't need a real combat ready military. Why spend money for defense when the United States is providing that defense for free? Now that Germany has proven NATO is just a sham and the United States is expected to do all the fighting, we need to exit NATO and let the EU defend Europe with their own blood and money.

We should start a new alliance with just Canada and the UK and tell the rest of the world don't fuck with the alliance countries.

We've done that to every country we've went to war with and defeated, it's standard and is removed once the United States is confident the country is no longer a threat. They removed that requirement on Japan and Germany in 1961, but Germany likes the United States providing it's defense so insists it remains in place. Only a retard would think the United States would try and revive that agreement if Germany had offensive forces. Every country in the world has offensive forces...except Germany because we do it for them, not because they can't have them.

If Elkin had ever been to Japan or the Philippines, he would have a better appreciation for the benign nature of American influence.

Heck, if the trade dispute with China continues, then Vietnam will be a major beneficiary.

If you visit that beautiful and once-violent country, to revisit perhaps China Beach, you can readily see the good influences of France and the U.S. there.
