I often wondered why the GOP wants to abolish one of the most loved programs in the US. this site explains it well.

What GOP legislator or governor or senator has said they want to abolish Social Security?

If I were to reform it, I'd allow -- on a volitional basis -- younger people to invest up to 10 percent of it in the stock market.

But nobody wants to abolish it.
