Tuxtla Gutiérrez (Mexico) (AFP) - In the most aggressive move yet by Mexico, authorities blocked a new caravan of Central American migrants Wednesday after they entered Mexico bound for the United States. Soldiers and police forced hundreds of migrants in the group -- which was mostly from Honduras -- to a halt in the southern town of Metapa de Dominguez, about 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) from the Mexican-Guatemalan border.

Tension flared as officers brandishing anti-riot shields blocked the migrants' path, the activists said. But despite a shoving match, the authorities managed to force the caravan to a stop leaving many of the migrants confused by the shift in tactics by the Mexican government.

Separately, migrant rights group People Without Borders (Pueblo Sin Fronteras) said two of its leading members had also been detained: its leader, Irineo Mujica, in the northern state of Sonora, and another activist, Cristobal Sanchez, in Mexico City.

Mexico has deployed the National Guard to the southern border and stepped up detentions and deportations in a bid to slow the flow of migrants crossing its territory toward the United States.

US makes deal with Mexico on immigration. To avoid Tariffs which was to take place on Monday, Mexico promised to deploy its National Guard throughout Mexico, particularly at the border, increase actions to dismantle human trafficking operations to smuggle individuals across the border, and take extra steps to coordinate with the American government to share information and "better protect and secure our common border," according to a statement from the State Department. Mexico also agreed to accept the return of those who illegally cross the Mexican border into the United States.

Let me take a moment to criticize the spineless RINOs at the Wall Street Journal, and the RINOs like Mitch McConnell for being so incredibly eager to argue against Trump.

Trump asked Mexico to do 3 easy things: 1) control chokepoints at the Mexico-Guat border 2) stop narco gangs from using the bus-train system and 3) declare Mexico a safe haven where asylum-seekers could wait.

These 3 things are EXTREMELY reasonable and EASY for Mexico to do.

Trump once again demonstrated why is the best leader in the world, he gets stuff done for Americans.

I suspect this move by Trump just made him unbeatable in 2020. Trump continues to amaze!!!
