Just watched "Gone With the Wind" again.

Very interesting how large the role of land (Tara) and money (the $300 in taxes due) was in Scarlet's decisions.

Gable and Olivia were great as Rhett and Melanie, but both were ripped off at the Academy Awards given out in 1940 at the Coconut Grove in the Ambassador Hotel.

Even back then, they were apparently very eager to give out the first Academy Award to a black supporting actress, Hattie McDaniel, who did a fine job but nothing like what Olivia de Havilland.
