The House has failed to re-open the government, chalk another one up for Trump! He warned them if they don't give him what he wants in Bills, none of them will pass while he's President. Democrats who are dependent on the government to care for them are the ones being hurt the most by the shut down. Hopefully some of those non essential government workers will end up getting real jobs in the civilian work force where they'll once again be essential. Trump should double the amount he wants for the wall and wait for Congress to give him a Bill that works and until they do, veto them.
The worse I've been effected is there's no nice person wearing a smokey the bear uniform to wave at me on my hikes in the national forest I visit.

The impact has been brutal.
For example, where normally a park ranger is sitting inside by a heater drinking coffee, there is nobody present, and you have to hike the trail by yourself -- just as always.

So Trump's self-generated political crisis with his base has now been escalated by Trump into a "national emergency."

No special counsel, whether Starr or Mueller, should be "chasing" any politician.
The law requires a search for a crime, not a Banana Republic effort to target a politician you don't like.
