Why Obama went through Defense Secretaries has nothing to do with why Trump is losing his Defense Secretary.
Maybe they all hated Obama. So what?
Why do you think that should make anyone feel better about Mattis quitting for the reasons he articulated?

Given Pelosi's claim that, if one Sec of Defense resigns that means it is chaos, then the next question would be if it was chaos when Obama went through FOUR Secs of Defense.

But I will give him some context anyway.
In the first two years of Obama's administration, the 'A team' turnover was 24%.
In the first two years of the Trump Administration, 'A team' turnover is 65%.
johnforbes can't see that a turnover rate two and a half times that of the Obama rate (or almost any other recent President for that matter) indicates a level of chaos that Obama didn't inspire, but Trump does.

Perhaps Obama didn't.
Two of Obama's defense secretaries wrote critical books, a third was essentially fired, the fourth (Ash Carter) often struggled to clarify his odd remarks.
