Democrats on Saturday slammed what they described as a “Friday night document massacre” after the White House refused to release more documents on Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s.

Former President George W. Bush’s attorney Bill Burck told the Senate Judiciary Committee in a letter Friday that it has mostly completed its work ahead of next week’s planned confirmation hearing and it would be moving forward.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., blasted the withholdings. He said: “We’re witnessing a Friday night document massacre. It's not only unprecedented in the history of Supreme Court nominations, it has all the makings of a cover-up.”

The office of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement that the lawmaker “has expanded access to confidential material beyond that for any other Supreme Court nominee.”

In terms of quantity, Grassley’s office said it has provided significantly more documents of executive branch material than was the case with past nominees. It said that 440,500 documents were produced in relation to Kavanaugh, compared with 173,000 for Justice Elena Kagan and just 6,350 for Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Like Schumer has actually read the 444,500 documents he's been provided. It's all an attempt to delay the hearings until after the midterm elections. I'm glad Trump said enough is enough, vote for him or don't but a vote will be held.

Unless johnforbes has a one-to-one-overlay relationship to some historical event, he STILL doesn't care about a far more egregious case of nepotism by Trump. Trump actually hired people who were unqualified to get security clearances to handle our most sensitive problems. Robert Kennedy was practically powerless when compared to Kushner, because Kushner has the power of the President rubber stamping everything he does in multiple arenas because Trump is too lazy to do the work himself. If you can't see it on TV, it requires too much effort.
