Everyone agrees, our economy has never been this strong, what the hell happened at the end of 2016 to turn us around? Something happened at the end of 2016 to give Americans hope and that hope has been delivered on. :D

Hum, that is a tough one.

Throughout 2016, liberals were saying Trump would melt down the economy and the markets.

I didn't think so.

Early on Nov 9, 2016, Nobel winner Krugman said the stock market would be permanently impaired now that Trump had been elected.

I thought Krugman was nuts, and put my money where my mouth was.

Well, more sad news.

In doing the usual Saturday net worth calculation, comes the dismal tidings that I'm worth now more than ever.

This will hurt the feelings of Elkin, who to his credit has a net worth of $1,238.

And 18 cents.

Justme and John Forbes are the perfect contrarian indicators.

Perhaps it's time to start selling?

No, I'm not a contrarian indicator.

Even if the yield curve has some some flat tendency, where is the inversion?

GDP growth is improving, as is unemployment, and interest rates globally still remain stimulative.

I don't try to time the market other than tilting with trends, but I'm guardedly bullish particularly if we get another tax cut before Christmas.

Which we will if McConnell and Ryan are awake and obedient to their K Street masters.

Speaking of bull markets, imagine how strong the economy would be if the Bush’s didn’t fuck it up twice in the past 30 years.

Every investor will confront some politician he doesn't like for some reason.

If Hillary had been elected, I would have followed the old military axiom of adapting, improvising, and trying to overcome.

But, when Nobel winner Krugman said he felt that a tax-cutting billionaire businessman would be bad for the economy and investments, I just had to conclude that Krugman had allowed ideology to distort his vision.

So, even though I do not have a PhD in econ or a Nobel in econ, as Krugman does, I was a lot better guide to the stock market than him.
