"New Poll: 43% of Republicans Want to Give Trump the Power to Shut Down Media"

"All told, 43 percent of self-identified Republicans said that they believed “the president should have the authority to close news outlets engaged in bad behavior.” Only 36 percent disagreed with that statement. When asked if Trump should close down specific outlets, including CNN, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, nearly a quarter of Republicans (23 percent) agreed and 49 percent disagreed."

This shows you what Republicans really think of the Constitution. Most likely they would be stunned if they bothered to read the first amendment to our Constitution.

Now let's watch the conservatives here defend this anti-American attitude of their fellow Party members while desperately trying to blame Obama and Hillary for it somehow.

No, dimwit, I used the poll company to get my information and then found an article synopsizing the important stuff for morons like you who can't read scientific papers.

Notice RealTool doesn't even try to deny the vile anti-American dimwittedness of Republicans.

He's one of those who supports Trump shutting down media outlets. :(

So this would mean that about half of conservatards are in support of a dictatorship?

Trump apparently thinks protesting football players are a greater threat to our democracy than Nuclear missiles from North Korea and hackers from Russia.

The Left favors censorship on campus, on the Internet, everywhere.

Did I call it or what?

johnforbes is actually here defending Republican anti-American beliefs by comparing a community not wanting white supremacist hate speech and violence on a campus or town square to dictatorial, banana republic government control of the media.
Of course, no liberal has EVER supported government control over the press while conservatives have, as the poll shows.

johnny's comparison demonstrates he honestly thinks they represent comparable views, so he showed up to support the Republican authoritarians in the poll by conflating censorship of speech that foments violence with government control of the press.

The Left is defining "hate speech" as anything which isn't Democrat ideology.

This is astoundingly hypocritical, and stupid.

Besides, the NY Times just hired an open racist kid, Sarah Jeong.

Donald Trump is still blocking over 40 Twitter users, thus breaking the law, a free speech group says.

Columbia University's Knight First Amendment Institute sent a letter to the Department of Justice on Friday informing the agency that the president is still blocking 41 people from his @realDonaldTrump Twitter account.

Nearly all of the accounts prohibited from accessing the president's social media posts were blocked after saying critical things about Trump on the site. If they weren't critical of Trump himself, they were critical of his policies.

The free speech institute has previously sued the administration, saying that the president's tweets are public forums and that denying people access to them is a violation of first amendment rights. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ruled in May that Americans had the right to reply directly to lawmakers like the president who use social media accounts as platforms for official business. Oftentimes Trump tweets something newsworthy rather than holding a traditional media conference.

I never did agree with putting people on ignore, or blocking, or banning.

Let free speech flow.

The more a leftist lunatic speaks, the more he reveals himself.

I remember when Trump demanded that Samantha Bee should have been fired for making certain remarks? Now Trump says that some language be banned from media and calls for Bee to be fired. Trump was acting as a government agent and infringed on Bee’s right to free speech.

The more the rightist lunatic speaks, the more he reveals himself.
