Manafort’s defense: I was investigated for all this by the government eight years ago, and I was exonerated. And I’m going to put on the stand as my first witness the young lawyer who exonerated me.

You know who that young lawyer is? Rod Rosenstein.

You heard right. Manafort was exonerated by federal prosecutors led by Rod back when he was a young bureaucrat.

Judge Ellis has already opened the door and questioned why the DOJ in the past felt the events Mueller is now charged with were "Nolle prosequi" after they concluded their investigation.

Manafort was cleared by Rosenstein years ago for exactly what Mueller and his minions are after him for now.

Manafort's lawyer's first court trial witness should be RR to explain why.

This is why johnforbes failed as a criminal lawyer. He could never understand that sometimes you had to provide a defense for someone who was guilty. And if you did a good job, you might sometimes get a guilty person off.

Regardless, whatever Manafort was charged with eight years ago could not possibly be "exactly" the same thing as he is being charged with today. And even if it were somehow "exactly" the same, that would still be irrelevant today. Sometimes courts make mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes are rectified in the future when the perpetrator continues his criminal behavior.

Anyway, this case is this case and it's not that case, (which is utterly irrelevant, and a really poor defense strategy.) All you need to do is let this trial run its course. If the government proves its case, then that's the way the cookie crumbles. If you don't think a jury of Manafort's peers and an obviously biased judge are able to handle the task at hand, then you have no choice but to move to another country, because that's the way things work here.

Trump is not suspected of any crime, nor a witness to one. Any president can't be indicted, and Rosenstein's two mandate letters were redacted apparently to conceal the sad fact that he was unable to even state what crime Mueller is investigating.

It is idiotic that Manafort is being pursued when he was let go by, inter alia, Rosenstein long ago and not prosecuted.

This is just spending taxpayer dollars in a Democrat attempt to undo the votes in 2016 of 60 million Americans.
