Mueller dampens Dem's hopes of something coming from trial

Mueller "To dispel any rumors about the Manafort trial, I feel it necessary to clarify, the charges do not relate to allegations of Russian meddling or collusion with Trump figures in the 2016 campaign, but only focuses on allegations that Manafort cheated on his taxes over a several year period and lied about it."
So here's what I don't get, this is a Special Counsel put together to investigate Russian meddling in the 2016 elections, so why is the Special Counsel spending all this time and millions to pursue some guy's old tax returns. Maybe the judge in the case knows the answer?
You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort’s fraud," Ellis said, referring to the barrage of criminal charges leveled against the former Republican political operative. “What you really care about is what information Mr. Manafort could give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump or lead to his prosecution or impeachment. …The vernacular is to 'sing. No one would have blinked had the remarks come from Manafort’s defense attorneys. But the reason the otherwise uneventful May pretrial hearing made headlines is because the biting commentary came from the presiding judge. '"
So it's clear, the Special Counsel went outside it's scope of investigation to try and get Manafort to sing and since he won't sing, he's going to be punished. I have a feeling Judge Ellis is going to give the prosecution a really hard time since he knows the charges would never have been brought if they weren't out to get Trump.
Oh, one more thing Judge Ellis voted for Trump and Mueller attempted to get him removed but failed since it was pointed out that almost everyone on Mueller's hand picked team voted against Trump. Mueller couldn't have it both ways.

Manaford apparently should have registered as a foreign agent but may not have. Like many others who ignore this.
Also, he may not have done his taxes properly and should have.
But the ONLY reason to go after him was the hope that he would roll over on Trump and give them some opening to nail Trump for something.
This is precisely how "justice" works in a Banana Republic.

So JFK should not have hired his brother, inexperienced RFK, as Attorney General?
I concur.
As to the Left's very recent faux respect for the FBI and DoJ, come on.
Was the FBI wonderful when it tracked everything MLK did for decades?
Was the Dept of Justice wonderful before Brown v Board of Educ of Topeka, KS?

Day two into the testimony and Mueller's case is already falling apart. Rick Gates Mueller's star witness who made a plea deal with Mueller to tell all Manafort if given immunity now has backed out of testifying.
The federal judge presiding over the fraud trial of ex-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort rebuked Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team repeatedly on Tuesday, highlighting potential vulnerabilities in the first prosecution arising out of Mueller's ongoing Russia probe.
The 78-year-old Reagan-appointed judge, T.S. Ellis, sent jurors out of the courtroom several times as he reminded prosecutors that Manafort is not on trial for simply having a "lavish lifestyle."
Ellis also surprised the courtroom late Tuesday, saying, "Based upon what I've heard so far, I’m hoping to finish this case much sooner than anyone predicted.”
In a surprising moment, prosecutor Uso Asonye told Ellis that Rick Gates -- Manafort's former business partner who had been considered a star witness for the prosecution -- might not be called to the stand after all. You know who you are going to call,” Judge Ellis sharply told Asonye, you had better start making a case to back up your charges.
That disclosure prompted reporters to hustle out of the courtroom to report the news -- "scurry[ing] out of here like rats out of a sinking ship," Ellis said.

johnny, none of that stuff is to the point, is it.
You just agreed that Ivanka and Jared Kushner shouldn't be in the White House, but predictably, you are silent about it. You couldn't even come out and say it in so many words right now. You're afraid of your ignorant cohorts here.
But the public not "respecting" the FBI for "tracking" one person is not the same thing as a President discrediting the entire Bureau, is it. You're trying to equate apples and oranges. One is about abuse of power against the public while the other is the public's right and duty to be upset by it.
And Brown v. Board of Education worked because the President supported the Judiciary, he didn't run it down as "so-called judges" while encouraging public distrust and contempt, as Trump is doing on a daily basis. At the same time he is undermining all news reporting as "fake news".
A banana republic strongman destroying confidence in law enforcement, the judiciary, and journalism is applying textbook Goebbels Principles.
You know this, but you are silent.
The others here are ignorant. You could do something about warning them of the dangers, but you don't.
You have no excuse. It's contemptible because you know better.

It was reported some days ago that Mueller had a long list of witnesses...liberals were dancing in the street!
having list of names is one thing ..getting them to testify is another...
and getting them to say what you want them to say is still another..
If one witness refuses to testify..it will send fear through the rest.. :o

It's really confusing why libtards hate Manafort so much, he's not even a politician but yet they're working themselves into a frenzy about the possibility of him on conviction for tax fraud. I'm betting that Manafort doesn't serve anytime in a prison and even if he did...it doesn't hurt Trump!

It figures that all these hypocrite "law and order" conservatives find it unacceptable that someone is being prosecuted for tax fraud. Your own post makes it clear that Mueller is not targeting Trump with this trial, so why are you clowns so upset about this?
Manafort laundered millions of dollars, evaded taxes on it, then lied about it.
What do you morons find so admirable about that, and why do you think he shouldn't be prosecuted for it?
Will one of you grow a pair and tell the truth about why you really think Manafort should walk free despite his crimes?
Doesn't the law mean ANYTHING to you?

Tool, this is not a court of law. It is okay to say what everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) knows.
I know you're stupid enough to believe OJ didn't kill anyone because he was acquitted, but stupid as you are, even you know Manafort laundered money and committed tax fraud. There is no doubt in your mind. You smirk and smile to yourself about it.
johnforbes knows, sillydummy knows, even namandgulfdumbfuck isn't such a dumbfuck that he doesn't know.
What amazes me is that you all know this stuff, but you still want to let him walk. You don't care if he defrauded the United States. You all hate America so much that you cheer him for doing it.
And if Manafort is convicted, you're all going to be here insisting Trump should pardon him. Every last one of you, because you hate America and the Constitution. You dream of a banana republic where a strongman dictator tells you what to do so you don't have to be afraid any more.
That's how corrupt conservatives have become. They no longer care if someone breaks the law and cheats America. Conservatives applaud them for doing so. And if they're white and rich enough, you don't believe they should ever have to go to jail for their crimes.
Just watch and see if everything I just said isn't true.

Okay, dummy, let's pretend they don't "care" about Manafort.
They do care, of course, but lets say they don't, just for fun.
Now, given all the evidence against Manafort, in your opinion, should Manafort be tried for tax fraud or not?
Even if nobody 'cares' about his crimes, should he be tried for his crimes? It's a simple question.
Remember, this is a trick question. Only refusing to answer can save you from it.
And refusing to answer is what all partisan conservative weasels do.

ClownLicker accuses others of being hypocrites while he is the biggest hypocrite on the board. I can see him pounding and drooling all over his key board claiming Manafort is guilty.

They do care, of course
Even Mueller said the evidence against Manafort has nothing to with Trump or his campaign. So explain to us why they care if Manafort get's convicted for tax fraud for something done years ago while he had connections with Clinton and the Obama's administrations? Personally I'm hoping he does start singing, he has years of association with the Clintons and Obama Administration and only 3 month with Trump's campaign and never with Trump's Administration.

They "care" because he broke the law and the statutes of limitations on the crimes haven't run out.
That's the funny thing about the law--it's the law and needs to be enforced.
And "something done years ago" is something done two years ago. Criminy, you think if someone can get away with something for a year they should get off scot-free?
And then you answered your own disingenuous question by giving us a good reason to prosecute Manafort.
Thanks for finally getting on board with the law, Tool.

Sadly, the relevant authorities don't care at all about the law or whether it is enforced.
Hillary broke 18 USC 793 by putting classified email on her private server, and hostile foreign actors accessed it per the IG. But instead of prosecuting her, they covered it up.
Didn't Mills and Abedin tell the FBI they knew nothing about the private server, only to later have their emails released showing they did know very well and were discussing it?
Were they prosecuted, or were they given immunity so they could remain quiet and cover it up?

We have RealTool, who agrees Trump should butt out of the Manafort Trial, that Trump shouldn't try to influence the legitimate Manafort trial on twitter. Let Manafort do the time if found guilty.
And then we have johnforbes, who pusses out again, lacking the balls to support the Manafort prosecution and instead merely diverts to something beyond the control of anyone outside the Trump White House.
But will he criticize the Trump White house for their inaction?
Nope. He's too big a pussy.

Trump isn't trying to influence the trial, the judge in the case has made the same statement Trump has. This is all about trying to force people associated with Trump to sing (compose) something Mueller can use against Trump and if they don't Mueller is going to destroy their lives and anyone around them.

Another bad day in court for Mueller's prosecutors. The judge once again demanded they start showing evidence of a crime and that being rich or spending a lot of money isn't a crime. He removed the jury from the room and said he would not tolerate the path the prosecution is taking, which is to make the jury "dislike" Manafort because of his lavish lifestyle.

Obama thought he was unstoppable and made it clear his "peoples" were to cover it up so Hillary would become the next President so he would be the next Supreme Court Justice, he didn't even try to cover that up because he thought "it was written". Hillary was floored when she lost but Obama was devastated, he spent months in hiding undergoing therapy to cope with what had happened. Trump wasn't suppose to be.

The problem is that we now know that law "enforcement" and "justice" agencies allowed Hillary to skate entirely free when they knew very well she broke 18 USC 793.
Go read it.
Anybody who reads it understands that Hillary contravened it.
Because top officials hated Trump, they protected Hillary with a totally fake investigation, even writing her exoneration draft before 17 witnesses (including her) were interviewed.

snake, RealTool doesn't fail to include attributions because his shit comes from an off-the-wall source.
He fails to post an attribution because he nearly always adds or subtracts words, or even entire sentences, to or from his quotations. And sometimes the absurd non sequiturs included give him away as well. Yet other times you learn from his source (when you track it down yourself) that the article itself debunks the content of his quotation as being untrue.
Sometimes his source actually concluded the exact opposite of his assertion.
He honestly doesn't understand how I catch him making up stupid shit. Being illiterate, he usually misspells words or includes atrocious grammar in his made up parts. It's a dead giveaway every time.
I just can't get him to take an ESL class to keep him from giving himself away.
