Famed gay rights lawyer sets himself on fire at Prospect Park in protest suicide against fossil fuels. A nationally known advocate for gay rights and the environment died Saturday in a fiery Prospect Park suicide, with his self-immolation meant as a wake-up call to save the planet.

The charred remains of David Buckel, 60, were discovered shortly after sunrise when firefighters responded to a 6:40 a.m. blaze in the southwest corner of the sprawling Brooklyn park.

“I am David Buckel and I just killed myself by fire as a protest suicide,” read a hand-written suicide note left near the blackened circle of burned grass. “I apologize to you for the mess.”

A second, longer note — left with the first inside an envelope marked “For the police” — said Buckel doused himself in gas before starting the fatal fire as a metaphor for the destruction of the planet.

Finally a nut case stepping up to the plate to reduce man made climate change. What's amusing about it is he couldn't find a way to use renewable energy to commit suicide, he used a fossil fuel. :cry: He is right about one thing, the world is a better place now, more libtards should step up for the cause.

He was a white guilt ridden gay man that was anti-Christian that believed man was the planet's enemy. I'm surprised it took him so long to end his misery. Going out the painful way he did was to punish himself for being a white man, he certainly felt he deserved the pain. For all the reasons outlined, he was one sick puppy.

Just to punish myself, this morning I raked a leaf clog out of my ditch before the first cup of coffee.

It was brutal.
