At least one trillion dollars are being invested globally in ways to reduce the threat of climate change, including renewable power, energy efficiency, and public transport around the world.

The sums involved are likely to make it possible in future for the world’s governments to meet their commitments under the Paris agreement on climate change, provided the investment continues and is directed to the right ends, according to a new report.

Thanks for all of the sane people in the world. Now those espousing The Kock brothers latest babble, you can start spreading your drivel.

What do the "Kock" brother have to do with anything Snakeshit.. Ojackass spend billions on "renewable" energy and everyone one of them went bankrupt. Year after year they go through this shit whining, stomping their feet, throwing temper tantrums.. For what! Not one single clown has come up with a decent renewable source.. Its just another way to get tax-dollars so they pound their chest and scream how important they are....

FAIL!!

It's called wealth redistribution and making the insiders rich. All that money spent and their scientists claim it hasn't slowed global warming one bit so more must be invested, more, more, more or you will die.

Leave it up to Justme to invest money in exactly the opposite places where they should be. The perfect contrarian indicator.

BTW...how's that Fluor doing?

In 1930, there were 2.2 billion people.

Now there are 5 billion more.

5 billion more.

This is the real cause, but it is totally ignored by so-called "environmentalists."

"5 billion more.

^^^^ johnforbes admits that global warming is caused my man.

But it's hardly "ignored" by ANY climate scientists, johnny. It's precisely what they're saying.

Ah, our resident hater namgulfvet slings barbs and ignores facts. I know you are going to bash my source so save yourself some time and just get to your insane reply.

http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/global-wa ... ndustries/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Greenpeace uses 1997 as a benchmark year due to increased coordinated backlash against global climate negotiations leading to the Kyoto Protocol of 1998. We define climate change denial as “anyone who is obstructing, delaying or trying to derail policy steps that are in line with the scientific consensus that says we need to take rapid steps to decarbonize the economy.”

We do this to hold accountable those who do not state their intentions honestly. Most modern lobbyists do not deny the irrefutable science indicating that our planet is warming, but instead deny the need for viable solutions — such as a cost on industrial carbon pollution, energy efficiency, clean energy alternatives to fossil fuels — as demonstrated by the science.

The Koch brothers continue to finance campaigns to make Americans doubt the seriousness of global warming, increasingly hiding money through nonprofits like DonorsTrust and Donors Capital Fund.

Why focus on Charles Koch and David Koch? Many large foundations associated with corporate fortunes are active in financing climate denial groups — Anschutz, Bradley, Coors, DeVos, Dunn, Howard, Pope, Scaife, Searle, and Seid, to name a few.

Unlike Koch, most of those fortunes did not come from owning a corporation like Koch Industries, historically rooted in fossil fuel operations. And none come as close as the Kochs in terms of decades-long focus on actively building a political influence network and coordinating other wealthy executives, corporations and families to dump amounts money into politics that not even the Koch brothers could afford.

BTW Which Iraq War were you in. The 1991 one or the 2003 one.

In my little "shithole" Texas town.....the mayor and his boys decide the
citizens needed to do their part...
So they introduced a recycling program....
Now when I put my trash out by the curb , I have to divide it into two piles....
But only one will be called "trash" ..... the other will be called "recyclables"..

And oh yes! I almost forgot....
I have to pay the city $3 more a month..I guess, my penance for the trouble I'm causing the planet. :o

Clown, nobody doubts that every human being creates x amount of trash in a lifetime.

Or consumes x amount of planetary resources.

The real issue is that, in less than 100 years, we have added FIVE BILLION MORE PEOPLE to these amounts.

This is true regardless of anthropogenic climate change being real, or fake, or partly real, or partly fake, or totally ideological, or 100 percent true, or whatever shakes out.
