I've been a HC/RC subscriber for at least 5 years now, maybe more but at least that long. I have sent at least three emails with my "old" login information. To date I haven't received any emails confirming that VW staff even realizes I exist!

I've been reading updates and I understand VW staff has been very busy but the fact that I have sent(at least) three emails and received no reply is a bit disconcerting. I'm not a contest winner but there have been so many posts on this subject I feel like I can recite chapter and verse the procedure for getting reward money due for winning.

Enough already, if those folks don't realize what they have to do to collect their prizes there are plenty of updates they can view. I'd like to hear more about what I consider to be the vast majority of VWers....the voyeurs like myself!

Are we still going to get "down-time" credit? Do you have dates for our sign-ups in order to be accurate as far as the credit is concerned? I was a paying member of both RC and HC, so I have two different sign-up dates. I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to be "forgotten" and if I want access will just have to start new accounts.

If I am "forgotten," rest assured that I will take my business elsewhere. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

That's a great post, umpcam. I have been patiently waiting too and refused to get involved in the childish name calling that has pervaded this board since the crash.

I agree with you totally...so much time spent by VW staff replying to the very small minority of members who are contest winners...so much time spent responding to the children...and very very little time spent updating the paying members via email....instead forcing us to wade through all the silly insults and negativity to try to find out what's happening...until very recently at least.

I did get one email from Katherine at the very beginning promising to keep me updated but that was it. There's no doubt VW got caught up in fighting a losing PR battle and catering to a small minority of members and lost sight of those who make the site work both financially and contri-wise.

But I am happy to see the progress and I'm looking forward to posting mrs hg on the fetish BB again soon.

Many of us are in the same boat. But I don't think having a user name and password at this point will do you any good. Right now the pay sites are pretty much just static with data from the end of May (at least this was the case yesterday, when the pay sites were accessible). I for one don't care to have access until the sites are actually "real" once again. That means the vast majority of the links work - voting works - commenting works - the RCBB is working, etc. Until then, I'm not getting what I paid for.
At this point I just want to be able to finish out the term of what I paid for. I'll have to see what the service is like before I decide to spend more money. Right now I don't have a lot of confidence that we will see anything close to the service that we had before the big "event". The technical crew at the helm has not shown much progress in the 30+ days that the sites have been down - pretty much they have only managed to restore an image of the sites from an old backup (in the FB case a very old backup) . Also, it has taken at least 4 days to properly secure the pay areas - something that is fairly simple to do and should have only taken a few hours at the most.

Same here really. At this point it doesn't look like the "new" owners are going to be able to make good on what they promised when the sites went down.

It really sucks too because RC/HC were great sites!

Yeah hg99....so far the ONLY email I've gotten from Katherine was as board mod stating that a reply of mine from like 3 weeks ago had been approved!

mr cuke...the RCBB is working? All I get when I got to redclouds.com is the front page of VW...how can I get to RCBB?

Yes they all were great sites! But I don't think they will be as great as they were before the "event" for a long time to come. Even if they managed to get the sites back to perfect working order tomorrow, I don't think you'll be seeing contributions from many of the old (and new) favorites. Mainly because they have lost confidence in the sites due to the poor handling of this whole situation. So, i fear we are seeing the end of an era.

I didn't get any e-mails on my RC account e-mail. I did get post confirmations on the junk e-mail I signed on with to this forum.
I am beginning to doubt VW even has our member contact info, and are relaying on the info we provided during registration to this forum.
I also doubt that I am the only one that refused to sign up to this forum with my RC member e-mail, username and password.

Sorry I missed this thread this morning, you all are correct, a lot of the drama has gotten answers while the 99% has not. I apologize for this and as a result I have been doing my best to focus much more on the real issues that impact the majority of the members. Umpcam: As far as being forgotten I have no intention of letting that happen. There will be down time credits given, and from what I know they are going to be in excess of the actual "time down." I will post in updates when I know the exact credit that will be given. Please do not email your old login information anymore, this was thought to be needed initially by the VW team, but the proper information was recovered deeming that unnecessary. What will be done now is an email will be sent TO YOU in order to reactive your account, you do not need to do anything other than confirm details in that email and select your new username and password.

thanks Kiki...mrcuke said that RCBB is open but when I go to redclouds.com I get redirected to the VW home page. Is RCBB open and how do i get there?

MrCuke, I fear you are quiet correct in your assessment. It is very unlikely that VW a large number of regular contributors will return to VW when the site is finally restored...at least in the near future. There will definitely be some significant hurdles for VW to overcome, and the main one is to re-establish the trust of the contributors. The only way of accomplishing that is for the site to be actively listening to their concerns, and reacting appropriately. If they do, it should only take a few months before VW begins attracting back some of what they have lost...and more importantly, if they act responsibly in the future and take care of the legitimate contributor's concerns, then they will retain most of the new posters that decide to give the site a shot. I'm not sure about RC and HC, but I've seen many a regular and many newbies leave in disgust over the way they were treated. So if this can be changed in the future, then there is every reason to believe that VW will be able to re-build to at least the level that they once were. But the focus has to be on the contributor, not the user. If the contributors are comfortable and happy, they will continue to provide the site with what makes it successful...and the viewers will come. If the contributors are not happy, then there will be nothing to view. I am hopeful that Kiki's appointment to her post as our VoyeurWebMistress is the first step along this path.

very odd...twice I've asked how to get to RCBB and each time my post did not make it here...i asked mrcuke once and kiki the other time...why would VW not want me to post that question...oh well...I'll just have to wait a few more days...and I unlike most still believe it will be as good as ever...naturally optimistic guy that I am lol

Hg99 -- I know of no way to get to the RCBB right now. Even when the RC section was available Free without Username & Password a couple of days ago, all the RCBB links were non-functional.

This is good news, as predicted by some users that seemed to have considerable knowledge in web design it has taken considerably longer to get the site up than anticipated. Having received alot of perhaps well intentioned but misguided information from the VW staff it had the perception of being whole lot of bullshit. However, now seeing some progress I'm confident they're headed in the right direction and with a little more patience the site will will be back entirely. I can't wait for the email.

I am on the same "will get to you" list. I recieved 2 emails over the whole down time.

Lucky you. I got the sign up email for this forum and that's it.

I understand there was a lapse in communications before, many of the people you have been emailing have been getting literally thousands of emails a day. Please email me with any issues you have and I will take care of them promptly, although I ask that you please read all the updates before you write up an email! Thanks!
