By the way, I'm skimming Walter Isaacson's nice new bio of Leonardo da Vinci.

Walter is a liberal, of course, but he does scribble interesting books.

Leonardo was gay (like Clown), but a genius (unlike Clown).

Interestingly, I have seen the "Mona Lisa" in Paris and also happened to have seen "The Last Supper" in Milan.

Every last person here should read Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall.

Especially those conservatives with a simplistic grasp of our relationship with Pakistan, as shown in the most recent thread about it.
They will learn why Pakistan behaves the way it does, among many, many other important issues the U.S. faces globally, such as the desperate need for more ice breakers in the U.S. navy and what China is doing in the waters off its coast and what's it's doing in Africa.

Read it and you'll see how obviously idiotic the bulk of the political commentary here is.

Kidding aside, I'll put that on my list and see if my library database has that.

It sounds interesting.

I also got Isaacson's bio of Steve Jobs (though I've always had non-Apple stuff).

A big side benefit of the book for you, johnny, is that it gives you perspective about what's actually going on in the world geopolitically and gives critical information about what we can expect in the near future (next 10 to 30 years) with respect to investing globally.

Understanding what's actually driving world governments and world economies is as close to a predictive crystal ball as you're going to get.

One thing about investing which Munger has said is that a person should read a lot of stuff, particularly when he may disagree with it.

That is one reason I look at some discussion boards on the Internet, and this sorta falls into that category although it is mostly a joking insult exchange forum.
