WOW the S&P 500 posted 98 new 52-week highs and no new lows

CNN quickly pointed out that the DOW had dropped almost a whole 13 points today as a lame attempt to try and dampen the S&P's amazing gains under Trump.

Trump is the real deal folks.

Even a few years ago, I thought we were due for a significant pullback because markets had trended upward since the spring of 2009.

However, all the "pundits" who predicted throughout 2016 that Trump would be bad for markets were completely and totally wrong.

This includes Krugman, the Nobel winner who said on November 9, 2016 that markets would stay down. They did not even stay down that day!

Now an investor could take profit off the table, but now the big business tax cut and individual tax cut actually provide a real basis (beyond corporate profits) for a market rise.

I always worry in bull markets what things will end them, whether the Korean Peninsula or whatever.

Yep, one always wonder when it's time to get off of the wave. With the tax cuts we're already seeing companies across the United States spending money that had been held in reserve which WILL result in the market to climb for the time being. As you pointed out, there are always those anomalies (Like North Korea) that are hard to factor into the equation.

So far, this is looking like another good year for stocks.

One thing I am going to do is invest more in global tech.

Had a global tech fund which last year was up 47 percent, so that may be a wave to surf for a bit?

I'd ride that wave for at least 2018, then based upon how the 2018 elections turnout, reassess.

Just fine, clown, just fine. I bought it at $11.00 and now it's over $53.00. :D By the way I still recommend gold as part of a well-diversified portfolio in today's globalized world, it's a nice hedge when things "do" happen.

RealTool considers losing only 16% over four years in a raging bull market to be doing "just fine".

And it is for Partisan Hate Retirement Systems, his brokerage firm.

Dude, you sure like fuzzy math don't you? I bought at $11.00, it's now over $53.00 which is a 481% profit and it's going up!

Dude, you sure are fuzzy headed.

When you said to buy, it was at $63 and you claimed it would be at $80 withing 6 months.
I have no doubt you bought a bunch more at that time.

Now it's at $53.

Since I was a kid, I've always loved cutting grass, johnny. I do it for fun.
It's especially great when you have a very sharp push mower.

Why you think it's some sort of humiliating insult is beyond me.

I also love cleaning garages and basements. It's very satisfying.

What's your problem Johnnie?

I mow the lawn and trim the hedges around my house. Along with shoveling the snow.

It's more economical to do it myself than to pay someone to do it for me.

Come on, Clown, you've got to know how to play along better than that.

What is the point in me insulting you if you can't at least pretend to be outraged?

It is the pas de deux on all forums.

That's exactly my point, johnny.

If you're going to bother to insult me, you have to pick something that is at least denigrating in some way.

One can't feign outrage very well when he's just been invited over for a fun afternoon.
And don't bring out the riding mower unless that's all you have. But I prefer the walk behind.

Have some lemonade ready for break time.
