DOJ and FBI announce, the Clinton email investigation has been reopened and a new investigation has been opened to look at pay to play by the Clinton Foundation.

The email investigation is starting from where the old one left off BUT the play to pay investigations is a brand new criminal investigation of the Clinton Foundation.

The investigation is examining whether the Clintons promised or performed any policy favors in return for largesse to their charitable efforts or whether donors made commitments of donations in hopes of securing government outcomes.

The investigation will also examine whether any tax-exempt assets were converted for personal or political use and whether the Foundation complied with applicable tax laws.

FBI field offices, including the one in Little Rock, had been collecting information on the Clinton Foundation for more than a year. The report also said there had been pushback to the FBI field offices from the Justice Department and FBI headquarters, suppressing further probes, prior to today's decision to move forward with the investigation.

Nick Merrill, a spokesman for Hillary Clinton, and Craig Minassian, a spokesman for the Foundation, did not immediately return calls or emails seeking comment Thursday evening.

No president should use a foundation as pay to play for his wife -- presumably the next president.

That is what the Clintons did.

No law enforcement agency should change the finding of "gross negligence" for political reasons.

It is crystal clear that Hillary's email mess broke the law, and there should be no distinct system for important politicians.

It's come out that Comey granted immunity to everyone who committed crimes at the start of the investigation under the guise that was so they would talk to the FBI. When it come time to talk to the FBI they said they knew nothing and walked away with their immunity letters from future prosecution in their pockets. The whole investigation was a sham. The "FBI" then destroyed the computers that Clinton hadn't got to.

Would be fascinating to read the language of those immunity grants.

At the time, everybody kept wondering why on earth they would grant immunity to every key witness.

But now we know.
