"The Justice Department will not be re-opening a criminal investigation to consider charging former IRS official Lois Lerner for her role in delaying non-profit status for conservative groups, the DOJ said in a letter to top members of the House Ways and Means Committee.

"This is a terrible decision," Brady said in a statement. "It sends the message that the same legal, ethical, and constitutional standards we all live by do not apply to Washington political appointees – who will now have the green light to target Americans for their political beliefs and mislead investigators without ever being held accountable for their lawlessness. .."

Apparently too much evidence of further corruption would have been revealed.

I guess that if I had nothing else, I'd have to rely on pure bullshit too.

The IRS had its own IG report on this instance of corruption.

The IRS even apologized for this partisan political targeting.

Was Lerner's effort directed, or guided, by the White House?

That seems likely, and probably that is why her hard drive was ruined and surely why the tape backups in West VIrginia went "missing" on the midnight shift.

If we have the rule of law, this should have been investigated. If it turned up nothing, that's fine.

But it should have been looked at.
