But the central conceit of the Left is that their opinions are "smart" and others are not.

It is the central flaw in political discussion.

It isn't surprising that so many people pat themselves on the back, but then Left Wingers do that a lot.

They get their friends in the media and glamorous Hollywood elites (who know little except how to play make believe) to advocate their cause and the sheep that make up their constituency blindly follow along bleating what they've been told to bleat.
And when they don't get their way, the party that advertises themselves as advocating peace, love, harmony, inclusion, diversity and respect goes wild, burning, destroying and now shooting anyone who dares disagree.

And they are now very near the line beyond which good people will no longer put up with their shit.

After that, and the day is coming, they will be very, very sorry.

Apparently it is "the central conceit of the Right" that criticizing Trump is the same thing as criticizing the Right.

johnforbes overlooks the fact that the article was not about the Right, or even any of the ideas of the Right, but about Trump himself, his vision of himself, and about his decision making.

Thus the article does not demonstrate johnny's alleged "central conceit of the Left" at all.
If johnforbes would bother to read the things set before him before venturing a stupid political opinion about it, he would know this without having to be told.
